Tamil parties PLOTE and EPRLF have urged special envoy Jon Hanssen Bauer that Norway should recognize the security forces as the only legitimate armed machinery in Sri Lanka.
A three-member delegation from the two parties has stressed that there should be no other armed groups in the island.
The two parties' heads of international affairs Thurairatnam (EPRLF) and Nesan (PLOTE) as well as its leader in Norway Rajan met Mr. Bauer in Oslo on July 01st.
Not only the Pillayan Group, the LTTE should also surrender arms if the Sri Lankan conflict is to be resolved, they have said.
The delegation strongly criticized the Norway for its role in the Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission, at whose request the EPRLF and the PLOTE had disarmed, saying that the only outcome had been the murders of their activists by the LTTE.
They have also said that all Tamil parties should be engaged in negotiations. |

Vedthalthivu and valaipadu close to A32 in poonakari, Killi District have been attacked by MI24s and Jets simultaneously.
MI24s are for close ground support. Jets are for sofetening up.
Vedthalthivu holed up LTTE mannar High Command will have to jump into the sea.
LTTE has lost their conventional fighting capability as per Sarath. then why is army struggling to walk in vidaththaltivu and mullaitive and muhamali and kilinochchi.

Sri Lanka s mission in Geneva responds to criticism by calling the former head of the UNHRC, Louise Arbour, unqualified to monitor human rights in the country. This dispute is self-defeating. Under a trade deal with the European Union called GSP-plus, Sri Lanka s garment exports (its second-largest source of foreign exchange) enjoy duty-free access to the EU. But GSP-plus hinges partly on human rights. Sri Lanka risks losing its privileges.
Dayan Jayatilleke is doing his part to ensure that GSP+ is lost. What else can you expect from a buruwa?

not only according to Sarath F, according to Col. Hariharan too, LTTE has lost its conventioanl fighting capability and SLA has achived what any army in the world will be proud of by chasing the LTTE from vasts chunks of territory that the LTTE were very strong until about an year ago and achieved military successes that LTTE cannot overturn..
As for your Info, army is not finding it difficult to walk over Vidthalthivu. The southern sattelite camps of LTTE in Vidthalthivu are almost abandoned now.
U ask me about Mulaithivu, which part of mulaitivu you mean??
And muhamale is a terrain very difficult to cross and SLA are doing a great job of holding their positions there and continuously dismantling LTTE formations ahead of FDL. |
