unfortunately, only a handful of Tamil intellectuals are in Sri Lanka and certainly NONE live in Vanni!

Yesterday 8 jets pounded Ampakamam that even Vavuniya town reverberated frmthe shocks..
Tamilnet unlike usual, didnt say a civillian settlement or some jungle trees were hit..well, they didnt say anything at all..
and today, Tamilnet highlights a news item that an MP in Aus has moved a personal resolution that 2002 CFA should be respected..
wow!...
A little bit too late to be loving 2002 CFA now...When all was going well for the LTTE with the 2002 CFA, Weera Praba said, thats not good enough and closed mavil aru..!!

NOw it should be clear for you that tamilnet does not lie about civilian casualty by air strikes. they report as it happens only.
for civilians and ltte in the north and east these air strikes are routine one and they are used to this . for guys like you living oveseas and other part of sl it is a great news.

The International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) Tuesday evening informed the Government Agent (GA) of Ki'linochchi, N. Vethanayagam, that it has decided to withdrew its personnel from manning the A9 post in Pu'liyangku'lam after Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) bombers attacked a locality close to the gateway at 3:40 p.m., the GA told TamilNet. Four bombers attacked the location twice, endangering the lives of the civilians and the personnel manning the gateway.
The SLAF air strike, which comes 4 days after the SLA had shelled the gateway.
Following the closure of the gateway, all transportation including civilian transportation and humanitarian supplies have come to a halt. |

The thing was that SLDF learned from their mistakes over 20 odd years and adjusted having learnt in the field what its enemy is made of. They assessed their own strengths and weaknesses and the strength and weaknesses of their enemy too..and they adopted a new approach with committment, dedication and right leadership.
As for LTTE, it fought for 30 odd yrs, more than enough time to have won most of what they wanted, just shy of eealam, but they waywardly droppeda all the opportunities presented to them. and VP, being the pigheaded maniac that he is, thought that he would be fighting with the same old SLA that he faced 30 yrs ago.
And VP never expected this much of SUSTAINED onslaught on him, militarily, politically and internationally...
that is whhat happened. |
