A young Sri Lankan Tamil couple were arrested by the New Scotland yard police for the suspected murder of their five year old boy , four year old girl and grievous hurt of a six month old baby girl, by cutting their throats the police said.
`The matter is being investigated by our child abuse unit and not by the terrorist unit right at the moment,` a spokesman for the New Scotland Yard said. The 300,000 Pound four-bedroomed house was taped off while forensic experts were collecting evidence inside.
He said the woman was also treated for minor injuries and both of them are in the custody of different police stations until the investigations are over and charges are framed. They would be eventually produced in a court of law after that.
The Police refused to divulge the names of the deceased until proper identification and names of the suspects until the charges are framed. But other sources revealed that the couple is Navartnarjah (39) and Sasikala Navaneethan (35) who moved into the neighborhood about six month ago. According to sources they are from Chunnakam, in Jaffna, Sri Lanka.
The attack on the children and the injury of the woman allegedly took place in a house in South London at Park Road in Carshalton, the Police said. The condition of the baby girl who was admitted to a hospital remained in a serious and critical condition the Police added.
The mother and the father are being questioned by the murder squad and the child abuse unit of the new Scotland Yard now, the Police said.
The Police and ambulances reached the murder scene at 10.30 p.m. On May 30, the neighbors said. The paramedics who came in several ambulances to the scene put them in the vehicles and were seen attempting to resuscitate the injured children before removing them to the hospital, the neighbors said.
But the two older children aged five and four died within 15 minutes of each other shortly before midnight, Friday. Sources said their throats had been cut.
Neighbours said the tragedy occurred at the time the man who ran a news agency and grocery stores at nearby Coulsdon returned home late at night on Friday.
Neighbours in the usually placid town said the deceased children were very playful and sweet and talked to them while playing outside their house.
The immediate neighbor of the ill fated family, Dhruba Sengupta (66) a retired forensic lab technician said , `I have been living here for more than twenty years and I have never known anything like this.` Other neighbors said that despite great tragedy that had occurred, both the man and the woman were calm and not screaming or crying.
Other neighbors said, after the incident a group of Sri Lankan Tamils arrived at the scene and told them that they used to live in the house but moved out because of problems. When police came and spoke to them they started screaming and crying, they said.

They tried to blame the murders on the 'problematic' house
When police came and spoke to them they started screaming and crying, they said.
but then realised they were asylum seekers and the police were going to deport them. |

The Sinhala Buddhist governments since 1956 have been killing Tamils including children and mothers in anti-Tamil riots started to sabotage the peace agreements BC Pact and SC Pact.
These killings and chasing of Tamils from the South had nothing to do with the peaceful protests staged by the democratic leaders of Tamils against Sinhala Only Act but solely to sabotage the agreements.
Even after 50 years of destruction the Sinhala Buddhist president is trying to impose a fake PC system in which he appoints and dismiss the Chief Minister of the Council. Tamils and Muslims hate the hegemony of the Sinhalese colonial masters. |

manivannan,
Moron, Go and Bull Sh...t it to Tamil Diaspora not here . Give this forum where you get those numbers of HIV status in Sri Lanka before posting Tamil crap.
HIV Situation in Sri Lnaka
The first case of HIV infection was reported in 1986 and the cumulative total reported at the end of 2004 was 614. Of these 363 were male and 251 were female. The reported number of deaths due to AIDS was 131 as of end 2004. The estimated HIV prevalence between 15 - 49 year olds in 2003 was less than 0.1%. It is estimated that 3,500 persons are living with HIV in Sri Lanka at the end of 2003. The current ratio of HIV-positive men to women in Sri Lanka is reportedly 1.4 to 1, although in reality, there are probably far more men infected then women as in most early phase HIV epidemics
In the 2006 Report on the Global AIDS Epidemic the UNAIDS/WHO Working Group estimated that around 5,000 adults aged 15 or over in Sri Lanka were living with HIV the prevalence rate was estimated at less than 0.1% of the adult population. This compares to the prevalence rate in adults in the UK of around 0.2%.
This is what Dr Hiranthi Wijemanne, Chairperson, National Child Protection Authority Said in the article Excluded and Invisible Sri Lankan children December 2005
Although Sri Lanka continues to be regarded as a low prevalence country for HIV/AIDS and the numbers of children infected are relatively small, nevertheless HIV can spread very rapidly and make children affected invisible.
