Lankan News Replies

Government officials in LTTE-held Kilinochchi say Internally Displaced People (IDP) are starving following restrictions on food transport in the area.
Kilinochchi Government Agent (GA) Rasalingam Vedanayagam says `the area is suffering from a severe food shortage after transport of goods and food into the area has been cut by 80 percent.`

Mr. Vedanayagam further said that despite the shortage, 12,000 are still being provided food under the World Food Programme and a further 17,000 by the Sri Lanka Government Rehabilitation Programme.

`Following the transport restrictions introduced by the government and the ministry of defence, transport of goods into the area has drastically decreased. Before the restrictions, around 200 to 300 trucks carrying food would come this way, but now there aren`t even 50.`

Mr. Vedanayagam also added that the trucks that are permitted to transport have to also distribute food to the cooperatives.

This is poor return for the work of Killinochchi farmers including my family - who worked hard to invest in farming.

This is because most of the food items sent by GOSL were stolen or forcibly taken by LTTE for its use. Govt must not provide additional food to Kiinochchi. They eat this food and with that energy they will kill our soldiers and destroy people's properties.

LTTE boasts of having their administration in Vanni, which they want it to become their state.

So, why don't they feed their citizens?

The truth that this ''state'' steals food, money, vehicles, petrol, dignity, jobs, employment, rights, education, kids, blood, skin and bones... for that matter every thing the tamil 'citizens' have !

OR

NOT ONLY THAT.....

THEY ARE CRUAL ENOUGH TO STEAL THE TSUNAMI MONEY MEANT FOR TAMILS WHO LOST EVERYTHING !

THEY MUST BE THE SOLE REPRESENTATIVES....... ( IN HELL!!!)

Only a moron can ask Vanni to feed the people after closing A9. These types of morons are every where, not only in this forum but also in the government and Defense forces.

No vehicles can pass through A9 as it was closed in the August 2006.

One reason why LTTE insist on independent Eelam is that it can import and export goods via sea ports in the North without having to beg or wait for the inhuman rulers from South to control the flow of traffic to the North or East.

There is a severe shortage of basics essentials in Jaffna too. President's friend who is operating the sea route to transport goods and make huge profits by doubling the price of goods in Jaffna is not to be seen.

Before the LTTE everything was flowing up and down without a problem. Sintamus has woken up after a 40 year sleep. It'll take time for him to come in to terms with reality.

NB: It is the GA who is pointing this out. He is receiving salary from government. It could be government propaganda to belittle the efficient system (electronic ID cards, sophisticated Hospitals etc.) that has been maintained by LTTE.
