Nacho,

THere was a time when tigers could not target big wigs & spectacular attacks in 2006.

THe abortive bid of Gotha, Fonseka & East were not going their way since the intelligence in East was thrawted by Karuna.

Now that karuna is nomore, they are clawing back slowly & hitting the bulls's eye.

1. The sinking of the Invincible with its loaded arms was a huge setback to Navy
2. Muhamalai debacle
3. Fernando pulle Blast.
4. Radar attaks on north

i can tell a lot.

This is a loss, but not a debilitating one. As I have told you numerous times before, you will have to finish half of the NAvy to stall this forward march.

Muhamalai debacle

Was LTTE able to stop any forward offensives in Mannar, Vavuniya and Welioya due to this Muhamale incident. NO.

Fernando pulle Blast

I suggest that you dont clai the responsibility for this as done by the LTTE, cos LTTE has not calimed the responsibility themselves cos they fear the repurcussion of such a claim. So if you calim this as done by LTTE, one thing that will happen for you is that you will not be able to build up arguments whitewashing the LTTE in future threads of LNP. So be careful of what you type, because people can quote you from the past. Lolzz

Radar attaks on north

What theheck is this?

LTTE is, at present, trying to save the face with diaspora. LTTE is trying to stop any advances from Muhamale side, probably, they cannot take the loss of ElephantPass would be a hugh humiliation. On the other hand, LTTE is slowly preparing for their future attack plans.

The fall of key LTTE defences in the Mannar sector indicate that the LTTE probably pulled out some of its forces earlier to reinforce Muhamalai-Kilinochchi. This would enable the LTTE to repel future forays of security forces into the vital heartland of the LTTE from the north.

Elephant Pass important to escape humiliation.

There had been few pro-active LTTE operations after Muhamalai. These were limited to dropping of three bombs on the security forces in the Welioya front by two Air Tiger aircraft, and sinking of A 520 (MV Invincible), a naval logistics vessel in a clever underwater suicide operation by the Sea Tigers in Trincomalee harbour during mid May. This would show the LTTE has severe limitations in its conventional operational capability.

TAF still in training, better if hit a bull during traning.

Sinking the ship - dual obejctives, getting ready for future attacks, to show that they are still capable, to convince diaspora.

Gunawardena said that SriLankan and Mihin Air could exchange passengers on selected destinations

This needs clear demarcation to be drawn on the basis of SriLankan wisdom and not by the demands or political influence of Mihin Air

Modayas keep saying LTTE is weak and they do not have weapons and no cadres to fight! Yet, SLA cannot walk in to Vanni! Eight months, still in Mannar. In Vavunia, they captured half an acre land from Tigers. Remember, all this took 8 months...

What does all these tell you? SLA will be bogged down for another 30 years in the perimeter of Vanni!

IN other words, after 08 months, LTTE lost half an acre that they were holding for 30 years.

I am not sure how long LTTE was holding to it. LTTE probably vacated it after inflicting enough to SLA.
