While the GOSL is wasting the petrol tax money on a White elephant, India Oil corporation is raking in Moolah.
Lanka Indian Oil Corporation is planning to further increase its diesel price with the ultimate objective of withdrawing from diesel sales and focus on the more profitable petrol sales, 'Lanka' newspaper says in its banner headline story.
Lanka IOC has been raising its diesel price without control after the government granted it permission to fix prices.
Since May 21st, it had increased the price by Rs. 20, Rs. 10 and Rs. 20 margins on three separate occasions, and a litre of diesel is presently sold at Rs. 130.
With its sale of petrol at Rs. 157 per litre, Lanka IOC earns an additional profit of Rs. 23, according to 'Lanka.'
The company is hoping that its higher diesel price will make consumers attracted more to filling stations run by the State Petroleum Corporation.
The longer wait and the longer queues created will result in more and more petrol-run vehicles soliciting Lanka OIC filling stations, thus increasing its petrol sales by unprecedented margins.
Having 100 filling stations in the country, it presently accounts for one-third of the local fuel market.
Experts note that neither the government nor the CPC has a way out of this scheme by Lanka IOC, the newspaper added.

Nacho,
The SLA was bogged down in Mannar Area for almost 8 months.
Mahinda wanted to make a big splash news by visiting Madhu Statue. YEt he had egg in his face when the statue was taken away & Madhu church lost its value.
To avoid the feeling of bogged down in Mannar, FOnseka ordered his men to march in Muhamali only to run back .
Now that they got a victory in North where it mattered most, tigers are slowly withdrawing from Mannar area only to pounce on the SLA Later.
Dont you know that tigers hide only to pounce later on their prey ?
So These victories are hollow & can change hands easily

Does LTTE melt Aluminium pots and pans for military purposes ??
There are stories about the LTTE agents buying aluminum pots and pans in large quantities and smuggling these into their areas. One of the reasons that this may be happening is because the sea route from TN is becoming increasing difficult to use. |

Chennai,
The SLA was bogged down in Mannar Area for almost 8 months.
We are fighting with a 30 yr old terorist organization which the FBI categorized as the deadliest. The seige of adampan was brilliantly excecuted by the three forces that the green bowl which VP guarded so tightly, which you all said would never fall. which the Tamilnet said that its mannar high command successfully twarted SLA advance, finally fell. The significance is that it finally FELL. and the mighty LTTE could not prevent it. may be you all can take solace by interpreting that huge green bowl loss as nothing but you will see the dire consequences of fall of mannar will have on wanni defences.
Mannar wanted to make a big splash news by visiting Madhu Statue. YEt he had egg in his face when the statue was taken away & Madhu church lost its value.
it never lost it value. its just that mannar bishop connieved with the LTTE. Yet the tigers could not stall the SLA march. Madu will continue to hold its value for the terrorist ever.
To avoid the feeling of bogged down in Mannar, FOnseka ordered his men to march in Muhamali only to run back .
there had been some lapses, I agree but SLA is ressilient and had shown no debacle in the overall military push by this. That is the strength. do not judge by one particluar incident. The forward march did not began in mannar but in mavil aru. the forward march didnot start last moth, it started more than two years back.
and do you mean to say LTTE hid all this time to pounce back. hardly a valid argument to me.
Now that they got a victory in North where it mattered most, tigers are slowly withdrawing from Mannar area only to pounce on the SLA Later.
This a victory, but would not help the tigers to come out of the deep hole they are in. the SLA suffered anuradhapura debacle too didnt it?

Dont you know that tigers hide only to pounce later on their prey ?
Tigers are waiting for the right number of battalions to come within their dragnet. After that it will be all repeat of Muhamalai, but multiple times lethal! The casualities could be in thousands. Fonny and Gota will have no place to run, once the hard lesson is taught by VP and his Brigadiers!

Modayas do not knwo that aluminum is primarily used in manufacture of aircrafts. When they see the flying TAF squadorn only they will know.. but it will be too late!
