As a head of state this is not a welcome statement.
His responsibility is to protect the innocent people on both sides of the divide. He must first stop the tit-for-tat killing which is punishing innocent lives on both sides.
Let the LTTE and the SLA to fight each other if no one in this earth can bring peace to SL but don't kill the civilians. First GOSL should stop the white van menace which is obviously happening with its blessings.
Mahinda even closes the main city roads when he travels about and then says to target him and not the civilians. For that he too should travel like the other poor civilians in buses and trains.
This proves the emptiness of his talk!
Stop the killing culture at the government level, stop the civilians killing, and then some peace may prevail and at least the lives of civilians on both sides will be spared.
Instead of that just asking to 'target' him while he remains totally protected has no substance at all!
