The elam is nothing but a lost cause now for the LTTE and its diaspora. There had been times where the LTTE enjoyed wide international support for their separatist cause and ethnic bloodletting of 30 years. But the LTTE failed to take those golden chances and pressed on to win an elam as it was VP s sole target. He had vowed not to give up elam, and if he ever did, he had asked his cadres to shoot him dead. So, the LTTE had forgone the golden opportunities presented to them in the history of their terrorist struggle because VP could not save face if he did let the elam go. So, it was all just to defend one man s ego that the LTTE continued this 30 yr campaign of terrorism. Thus the whole Tamil nation was lead to destruction. The present GOSL took a determined gambit and stood the cause and blew a punch that the LTTE would never recover both militarily and politically. The perfectly timed international backlash that came forth against the LTTE saw this terrorist organization gasping for support, which was well evident by the speech of VP at the last heroe s day. Two thirds of his speech lamented the lack of international support. The debilitated LTTE tried every trick under the sun, but the present GOSL was too strong to buckle under VP s proven tactics of peace and war. By routing the LTTE in the east and establishing democracy through elections, MR government put the full stop to the sole representative campaign of the LTTE and their elam. The east started its new life as a separate province with pledged support of international forces, which was culminated by the public praise of the GOSL s protocol for conflict resolution in the east by the US ambassador. His words of telling VP should give up elam and that a whopping majority of the Tamils would not support an elam dealt the final blow to a dying terrorist organization s political journey of fantacy and ethnic violence with an ego. It was virtually game over for them. And the crash landed LTTE diaspora and the pro-LTTE factions started frantically calling help from people like Bruce fein, who is trying CPR to the dying LTTE.
This is the reality before the LTTE and its fans now. The efforts of those LTTE fans who come to LNP to bash Sorry Lanka, as they put it, and ridicule MR and the government, is nothing but desperate attempts to vent their hatred and sadness by engaging in various pointless arguments with the others.
These LTTE fans can do nothing now but bask in the lost glory of the now dying LTTE and vent their frustration by growling at the sinhalese.

Even it seems like you write, I think LTTE having a 3rd option too. First is win by war, second is win by talk, and 3rd is preparing for independence declaration, if SLA advance into Vanni central area.
Naturally, they dont get IC help, but if war killed 100s of civilians, the situation may change.
GOSL must calculate (I think they do), all these eventualities. |

LTTE may be thinking many options, but Tamils have their mind settled only on one option, which is a free nation for Tamils called Tamil Eelam! |
