Nope. She is a non- Tamil

In the early 1970s, teh DMK split, with a wildly popular filactor MGR,forming the ADMK. The ADMK toned down the ethnic rhetoric and highlighted the populist message. Today the party is headed by a Brhamin, non-Tamil woman Jeylalitha, who as MGR's leading lady, inherited the party mantle soon after his death in December 1987: Narendra Subramaniam: 1999
