Some Hindus have expressed worry about how Hindus are portrayed and if the content will be disrespectful to their culture:
Rajan Zed, a self-described Hindu leader from Nevada, demanded that Paramount Pictures screen the film for members of the Hindu community before it is released in June.
This is what wiki says about the movie. As a person who was born in a Hindu family (I am not a religious person), I have seen more ridiculing act of the 'Hindu' religion in Tamil movies than anything else.
God sake, Hindu (and other eastern religions) has more embarrassing, ridiculing, and out of age mythologies that Mike Myers could never produce.

i agree sri sometimes the extreme hindus look for ways to complain. cricket IPL they wanted to complain about the cheer leaders. somehow i feel they dont really want to complain but feel that THEY should Do something! |

I think we all are racists in some level. In my personal view, Sri Lankan Tamil can be more or equal racist as a deep south American conservative.
As you know, Sri Lankan Tamil in Canada sometimes use derogatory term toward Black or Chinese people.
Some of Tamil never give respect to African people. The only reason is for that, I think, their color.
Indians are also no difference from us. Black or brown subcontinent people some how have developed a low self-esteem about their color. Subcontinent people would treat an African person way worse than an Americans did a few centuries ago.

youre absolutely right. we can be equally racist. when i came to jaffna after the riots initially there was a bit of resentment till i was able to win them over.
The only reason is for that, I think, their color.
or could be their economic condition too.
