When India was divided by British on the insistence of Muslims that Indian Hindus would not treat them fairly Sri Lanka minorities specially Tamils insisted on unitary government on the promise of SWRD in the state council that minorities should be given federalism as a solution, but, the same man did a somersault to get power.
The Sinhala state lacks the capacity, will and the intellectualism to provide a far-reaching accommodation for Tamils. It is more used to finding ways and means to impose the most obnoxious collective punishment on Tamils based on the certain historical myths. It is not for the Sinhalese or Americans to tell Tamils what they should do, it is only right for the LTTE to take what rightfully belongs to Tamils. There is no two ways about it. |
