No nation should be ever forced to negotiate with terrorists

US President George W. Bush recently made some valuable comments on terrorism and extremism and the way the world should treat the nations that are threatened by them. Addressing the Israeli Knesset at celebrations to mark the 60th anniversary of the founding of Israel, the US President expressed his country`s belief that the right of nations to defend themselves against terrorism and extremism must not be overridden by whatever sacrifices need to be made for peace. He then appreciated the courageous decisions made by Israeli leaders to build peace as well as to eliminate terrorism and said that no nation should be forced to negotiate with terrorists.
`We believe that free people should strive and sacrifice for peace. So we applaud the courageous choices Israel`s leaders have made. We also believe that nations have a right to defend themselves and that no nation should ever be forced to negotiate with killers pledged to its destruction`, he said.
The leader of the world`s Super Power briefly but clearly describing terrorism and extremism categorized whatever group that murders innocent civilians to achieve political objectives as a terrorist or an extremist group, and pledged his country will never sympathize with them.
`We believe that targeting innocent lives to achieve political objectives is always and everywhere wrong. So we stand together against terror and extremism, and we will never let down our guard or lose our resolve`, he said.
Speaking further he said that the battle against terrorism and extremism is `the defining challenge` in the modern world which goes beyond mere military action.
`It is a clash of visions, a great ideological struggle. On the one side are those who defend the ideals of justice and dignity with the power of reason and truth. On the other side are those who pursue a narrow vision of cruelty and control by committing murder, inciting fear, and spreading lies`, he said.
He then identified the war on terror with the battle between `good and evil` that has been continuing since the ancient time. He said that no one who represents a righteous ideology can `strap a suicide vest to an innocent child, or blow up guiltless guests at a Passover Seder, or fly planes into office buildings filled with unsuspecting workers`. `In truth, the men who carry out these savage acts serve no higher goal than their own desire for power`, he added.
Speaking about the nations that suffer from brutal terrorist attacks and how certain `international elites` have misunderstood their grief he said that the United States considers the `value of every man, woman and child` as matchless. Therefore, he pointed out that and the people of Israel, as well as the other nations that suffer from terrorism must `have the right to a decent, normal and peaceful life`.
President Bush then expressed his disapproval with the United Nation`s routinely passed Human Rights resolutions against Israel for the county is a democracy that fights against terrorism. He then condemned anti-Semitism in all forms and highlighted that the `religious liberty is fundamental to a civilized society`.
Finally he said pointed out the necessity of providing an alternative ideology for those who blindly follow extremist ideas, to create value to the struggle against terrorism and extremism. He said that extending the vision based on Justice, Tolerance and Freedom and Hope could create those ideologies.
`These values are the self-evident right of all people, of all religions, in all the world because they are a gift from the Almighty God. Securing these rights is also the surest way to secure peace`, he said.
He observed that responsible leaders should not pursue endless bloodshed but put the above values into operation through their political vision. Once this is done future generations would be less likely to search for meaning in radicalism or resort to violence. He stressed the expansion of liberty as the path to a peaceful future.

Yes ,
same thing applies to SL too , so no more talks with LTTE. just aggressive wiping al the carders till to an end.
now LTTE has proved it is the only way GoSL can solve this crazy war.

To Palestinians Israeli leaders who fought for their own country would have seemed like terrorists.

Explosive belts were introduced by the Tamil Tiger group in Sri Lanka. The first use of one was in 1991 when Thenmuli Rajaratnam, a Tamil bomber, blew herself up and killed Rajiv Gandhi.
Today such devices are used mainly by Palestinian groups, such as Hamas and Islamic Jihad, against military personnel in Israel and the Palestinian Territories. Organizations in Chechnya and Iraq have also used them in attacks.

Very good.
But what about state terriorism and some leaders who make deals with terrorists to win elections through the back door.
What about leaders who make active terriorist leaders Cheif Ministers.
What about leaders who invite Terrorits to join their government.
What about juntas which are running semi military goverments like in Burma, Slanka, Zimbabwe, Pakis, etc.
