But the Consul s brow was sad,
And the Consul s speech was low,
And darkly looked he at the wall,
And darkly at the foe.
Their van will be upon us
Before the bridge goes down
And if they once may win the bridge,
What hope to save the town?

Then out spake brave Horatius,
The Captain of the Gate:
''To every man upon this earth
Death cometh soon or late.
And how can man die better
Than facing fearful odds,
For the ashes of his fathers,
And the temples of his gods,

And for the tender mother
Who dandled him to rest,
And for the wife who nurses
His baby at her breast,
And for the holy maidens
Who feed the eternal flame,
To save them from false Sextus
That wrought the deed of shame?

Hew down the bridge, Sir Consul,
With all the speed ye may
I, with two more to help me,
Will hold the foe in play.
In yon strait path a thousand
May well be stopped by three.
Now who will stand on either hand,
And keep the bridge with me?

Then out spake Spurius Lartius
A Ramnian proud was he:
Lo, I will stand at thy right hand,
And keep the bridge with thee.
And out spake strong Herminius
Of Titian blood was he:
I will abide on thy left side,
And keep the bridge with thee.

Balraj who held the 'bridge' between Jaffna and Ep breaking the back of the 'impregnable' base-complex just like Horatius saved rome!

Just like Horatius 2300 years ago Balraj held back a HUge enemy host!

and just like the two who stood by his side to save the day more of his students would take his place

how can you explain Colonels commanding special forces units in SLA?

My poor fellow, a colonel is a special case as colonels have tended to have a higher profile in specialist and command roles rather than as actual commanders of regiments. Brigadiers and other common military ranks do not fall into this special catergory. My advise to you is to stick to credit card scams and such without talking about military matters that you know nothing of.
Cheers!

Akshe,

a country like you are talking about exists nowhere in the world.

It is in our hearts and minds. To achieve this in physical terms we work towards that goal - often by sharing our heart and mind with others.

no country is perfect everyone has their own problems, can you tell me any country which satisfy all peoples need ??

I am working to help both my countries - Australia and Sri Lanka achieve this for majority citizens. When majority citizens feel they belong - then we have achieved this goal. Excessive use of merit basis is often an obstacle in this path.

No country or group of people can reach break even regarding peoples needs always there is a loss for someone. it is the reality, still some can minimize it.
what you think is fair may not be fair for another... thats the summery.

As I said, it is counterproductive to use merit basis beyond the degree of separation felt. Faith through Common basis is the quicker path to achieving feelings of Oneness.

whosoever being selected they are also people human.they are acting to their own belives people. like all tamils are raised with the belif that 'sinhala must be kiiled'

Given that I and all Tamils known to me were not raised that way - I conclude that you are trading in quick theory and I consider it most irresponsible.

if you really think vp can win a poll then let him come on legally to table of contest then people will decide wht to do.

In Sri Lanka - the government has proven that it is not capable of delivering on merit basis. Hence it is better for the Tamils to use subjective group power rather than participate in fake democracy.

as i know most of tamils are also tired with LTTE brutal acts. in fact i had good friends from jaffna, hill country and colombo too. dont know whether they talked in real sense. but they were tired too with LTTE.

As are many Sinhalese of the GOSL

love

Oh Good Lord..
One guy dies of Natural causes and We are having a go at each other on racial lines

We all will die one day..That goes to innocent Lankans..Gosl Political leaders/Ltte leadership and also Military men.
but This WAR will continue.
We should look for ways and means to get PEACE in SL.

What we are doing here is a shameful act..we are showing Hatred and simply promoting WAR!
