Anud,
They must be using the same technique used by packet sniffers. If you setup a fast snifffing system in few nodes where all data funnels thru (backbone) and analyse for pattterns and keywords (like you said) you can read most of the data as you want. But encripted data is not that easy to read like that. A litle bit of AI with this type of a system will certainly can track the treats more effectively. |

marksman..with new hardware..such as the one released by Cisco and similar networking companies..its easy to route the entire 'internet' (i mean the backbone connections) via your routers if a government needs to.
thats what Ecelon does most probably With AI sifting through and getting information that might be interesting..which is later passed on to human agents.
and yes..high-end encryption is a huge problem because even though any form of encryption if breakable it will require more and more computing power..in fact if everyone started using the free-commercially available 128 bit encryption itself...the intelligence agencies will go out of business...because even with banks and banks of ultra-high supercomputers they will not be able to decrypt those messages soon enough.

For example, if GOSL wants to monitor Wanni, the best person to hire is a tamil.
HEre also the same thing. They hire immigrants to do the job.
Even he does not know what he is doing.
