His Excellency the President has made the Correct Decision by appointing Pillayan.

We in the SLFP/UPFA are commited to give the Chief minister's position to a representative of the 'political party' that has the largest number of elected member's. This is the agreement.

Some want the UPFA to change the word 'Political Party' which is in the agreement to 'Race/Community'. This change cannot be made because the UPFA does not practice 'Racial' or 'communal' politics.

One representative of the Hisbullah group can have a very powerful ministry to work for the Eastern people.

Note that the Hisbullah who obtained 3rd highest number of preference votes and was a major part of UPFA campaign will have every opportunity and power to contribute to Eastern development work.

We in the SLFP will never forget the contributions of the Hisbullah group which obtained 4 seats for the UPFA.

Also we are proud of the Eastern people who are now the 'World Leader's' in the War against Terror.

Hisbullah young power hungry man will end up in a rot, like others who went against any leadership.
If sincerely Hisbullah want to work for eastern Muslims,he should follow leaders like Karu and Ferial Ashrof.

You contested with an agreement.

You got the second highest votes

You trying to rise religious blunder when GOSL trying to keep up national harmony.

Election monitors say election is OK

Some groups of people show their narrow-mindedness forgetiing about the peace and harmony. All these are for their survival in political field.

Close examination of the voting pattern for the UPFA shows that 48% of the votes cast for the UPFA are Tamil voter's.

The balance are Muslim and Sinhala voter's.

Whoever plays the game along the racial lines will rot. The lesson learned is that division along racial lines will never have an end.

First of all Mr. Hisbulla should stop his power hungry, selfish politics and should learn how to carry out a decent politics for the sake of our people. Now he is in the trap of dirty political game. What is the right he has to ask CM post? For the sake of our people he should take powerful post and give up the CM post to Mr.Pillayan to ensure the peaceful life of our people.

Pillian was quite simple with his position as things learned, compare to Hisbullah.
Already division among Muslim parties and Hisabullah emerged from a divisional group.
Government has promised to find alternative ways to run the Eastern Province.
