yes even then it might be hard due to ground clutter if they flew at treetop level

i infer that when they got wind of this attack on the 'inviting target'(the ltte is using the super-visible runway as a money-sink for the slaf :P nothing else..and also as something to tie-down the slaf's recon assests)the ziln crew went down to treetop level/terrain hugging thus efectively vanishing from the radar screens.

NO, they just open a jump gate and jumped to another galaxy thus effectively vanishing from the radar screens.

Velir,

That's what I thought too. Highly unlikely situation. I thought some one found the wreckage..my mistake.
Do you think SLAF has a replacement for the beechcraft? This is why I ask. Do you remember the 'logistical post' they bombed at 6:15am. Do you remember the video ? what kind of an A/C would be able to take that. That had to be a gyro-stabilized camera like the ones they had on the lost beechcraft.

AnuD,

Shows how successful the Tigers have been in fooling you.

You did not explain this.

This means that the divisions are apparent and not real. When there is a more powerful and interesting opposition / enemy, they will join forces - because the ordinary Tamils are now more united than before - thanks to the Tigers in all provinces. it's when you have the experience that you feel. This is the reason why I go to the center of activity in all my jobs - even through it is more inconvenient to do so. Sometimes, as this year - it is more dangerous also. This bombing has confirmed the fears of my family who asked me not to go. But I dependended on my positive karma in relation to security.

Where you do not have the experience, you have to calculate - logically and or just observe and count. These are not as reliable as the direct experience. Connect to someone who has had the experience, any way you can. Then you will be more close to the Truth.

VELIR:

instead of saying 'the gosl has been unable to defeat the rebels for 30 years...even with overwhelming superiority in all the areas'.

VELIR. You are DUMB man.

Besides, India, Do you know why IC - EU, USA, UK, ITALY - are all behind GOSL.

Because they love tamils and they want tamils to win something.

Think a little bit bit more.

Countries freshly interested in Sri Lanka are ITALY, GERMANY and Europe.

Are all of them trying to screw GOSL? LOL

Seriously if all these people are behind GOSL and not trying to screw GOSL either why did the US remove SL from development benefits, Senate stop shipment or sales of arms, EU threaten with removing favorable trade status.

I am in the dark: please explain.

AnuD,

This is by a perfect Tamil.

they never involved in developing Sri lanka.

they every time ENJOYED exploiting Sri Lanka and then criticizing and destroying Sri Lanka.

As Nada said, you are spitting out the Truth under pressure.

This is why we have the problem. Your thinking is the thinking of majority Sinhalese who have been brainwashed by their vote-greedy politicians.

Enjoying Sri Lanka is necessary for material progress. Except for the truly spiritual like Lord Buddha, most of us are driven by material benefits. This is why MR used Oxford to make out that he was a democratic hero. If he truly were, we would have by now started realising democracy. May be he is. Those of us who are truly democratic are observing him.

Majority power is necessary for those who do not seek to show off their own individual outcomes and through that claim independent identity. You for example, if you are following MR - then you need majority power and v.v. Otherwise you need merit based individual power that would stand up anywhere any time. Due to their commitment to work, Tamils have the latter. Hence their success. The more you deny us majority power i.e. - self rule - the worse it would be for you - because we would keep showing off our individual outcomes to defeat your majority power.

I do not think they have a replacement for the beechcraft But we should not confuse the targeting/camera capacities of the mig27 and other fighter/bombers with that of the Extremely specialized stuff put on the destroyed beechcraft

nowadays almost all ground attack aircraft have some form of target/camera/laser range finger/designator / Flir on them

most probably the Mig 27's were using something similar to this

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LITENING

^^ th litening 1 or its russian equivelant.
they are expensive but the older versions(80s?/early 90s?) are relatively cheap. also cos they come in 'pod' form you can switch em from aircraft to aircraft so you need not have one for every craft when needed they can be attached to the aircraft's fuselage/wing

the Flir/targetting pods all have gyrostabilised cams/rangefingers/designators..in fact..gyrostabilization is a MUST because without 3 d stabilization a fast plan cant get video worth squat :)
