With the defection of Hisbulla and 3 others, now the opposition has a majority.
For Sri Lankan leaders family comes first, then their language and religion and 3rd how to oppress the weak (woman, minorities or poor).
The leaders play poker game with lives.
UNP RW had a golden chance to sort out the ethnic problem after LTTE agreed for for a federal set up in Oslo.
Then the UNP wooed Karunaa to defect LTTE and opposed American invitation of LTTE to the Donor Conference held in US.
This backfired later in the general election. LTTE asked Tamils to boycott it and MR got elected by default.
It backfired again and came back to haunt UNP again. Pillaiyan elevation to head the group as a result of UNP's coup to get Karuna defect. Later UNP compained that their dishonesty came back as Karma topunish UNP and complained Pillaiyan is targeting UNP candidates to victime them.
MR, the leader of the master race, is playing a dishonest game now. He appoints the CM to divide and destroy Tamils and Muslims. He will live to regret the outcome of such division and discord between the minorities.

There can be no doubt, Pillaiyan is the man who must 'hold the reins' as CM of Eastern Province. War with the LTTE is not over .. their tactic in the Eastern province will be to 'set off Bombs' in EP (like the one in Colombo today) .. keep the EP in a 'state of suspense' .. discourage investment .. discourage/make difficult the development of infra-structure .. in general, hold back 'development' of the Eastern Province. (To see the EP 'in ascendancy' & flourishing, with rising job-opportunities there .. is to 'kill' what support remains for the LTTE, in the Northern Province).
Pillaiyan is needed in the 'top seat', to make possible that we have relative 'Peace' in the Eastern Province, for the major Developmental Programs that have been planned (some of it on-going, already), may continue, and be realised. Hisbullah cannot do it .. Pillaiyan can (he is a rebel leader with 'arms', who has 'thrown in his lot' with GOSL). That is the difference between the two .. as regards their qualifications for the 'top' post in EP.
(If some-one says, so Hisbullah could also be 'armed', just ask him ! Indeed, that would be tragic .. as it will lead to fighting between Muslims and Tamils. And that contrary to what some LTTE supporters were trying to 'advance', is not the aim of responsible Sinhala people .. or of their leaders in GOSL).

But hsi crimes to the Tamils will be avenged but not by the Tamils.

Totally Agreed!
If Pilliyan is not given the CM post, Eastern Tamils will be dejected lot and Velu/eelamist definitely capitalize the situation. TVMP is still playing a supporting roll to SLDF. That's is a public secret, Muslims know that.

But they are incapable of electing the CM of their PC and Simnhalese master race must pork there to appoint a puppet of their choice.
There are some truths we have to agree.
Sri Lanka has one nation, its Sri Lankans.
But, its has few sub groups, as S/T/M..!
When the matter comes to the president of the country, possibilities are high to have a Sinhala person, since majority is Sinhalese.
So, what we see today, not Sinhala master is appointing CM to east, just general function of the government. How you say, if president doesn't appoint the person and just neglect without attending to the matter.
Then, comes the politics.
President is also coming from one party, and he has an sort of obligation to the develop that party. May be all leaders are doing too much, but thats the way the world is moving today.
LTTE is avoiding elections and moving its own, but remember its also missing possible chances to gain a better power by involve with general trend.
To have a own system, its going a too selfish journey. I think, it must behave more matured and try to get the best out of available options. Making a own system doesn't need to end with just one leader.
If true potentials are there, Tamils will see that in coming future. For that LTTE must be flexible. |

I smell a double X in the making.
With MR at the top.
Tamils now will know for sure not to ever trust the Singlecellese , they will do this to the Tamils every chance they get.
Maybe it will be an eye opener to all Tamils . |
