Ending the week long dispute over the Chief Minister post for the Eastern Province, President Mahinda Rajapakse has decided to appoint Pillayan as the Chief Minister. The swearing in ceremony will be held today at 4 p.m. at the Presidential Secretariat.

Police Sergeant killed in LTTE attack- Mannar
May 16, 2008


A Police Sergeant has succumbed to injuries on admission to the general hospital at Murunkan this morning (May 16), after been shot at by LTTE gunmen in general area Malavarayan-Kaddaiadampan, along the Vavuniya- Mannar main road.

after long decades we have a leader with backbone.
MR will never bow down to pressure. He will do what he wants as a true leader.

Yes. I am sure MR offers suitable ministerial posts to Muslims too. They will probably not happy about this, but they has to come around.
Hope this will end the fight and all get back to the work.
