Only important thing is the WHILE WORLD IS WATCHING that SLDFS are defeating the WORLD's MOST RUTHLESS TERRORIST ORGANIZATION. LTTE is now asking for human rights, anti-war, peace and talk about abductions and disappearances of homicide bombers to save them.

So, GOSL have a big responsibility in supporting that HUMANITARIAN OPERATION.

Gonix

You are again surrounded by the extremely bright specimens eh ?

Yes that brilliance of these indiviguals is incandacent . Who else would be pumping monies to a cause that causes their own destruction .

The Great mind 'WRH' makes a few appearences but sadly he avoids speaking or responding to me now , must be that my street sweeper mind is too much BELOW 'ZERO LEVEL' for him . I have to keep my self busy with such lesser luminaries as Chennai Pandaram etc . I guess they are ZERO BASE for me . LOL

The Sri Lankan culture has been essentially conditioned by the great religion of Buddhism, but later influenced by Hinduism, Islam and Christianity.

^^ :)) Buddhism was a later arrival. Hinduism was here before that. but then again..we cant have the truth out in the open now..can we...especially the fact that Buddhism too is a 'Missionary religion'...when the lankan Buddhists are so much against 'missionaries' recently :))))

its funny, most Sinhalese have forgotten that they are Buddhists due to missionary activity! :))

Ps: the write of this speech for MR seems sadly lacking in knowledge about history :)). but then again..if he were not he would not have been MR's speech writer in the first place .lol :))))

Andy,

Yesterday the LTTE was fighting against the Sinhales for the rights of the Tamils and the Muslims.

Today they are fighting for the rights of oppressed minorities of the entire world.

Soon they will be collecting from the Native Indians, Pygmies and the Australian Aborigines.

The hallucination is getting better by the hour.

Other speakers planned here (from Oxford Union Web site)

Speaker News
GERI HALLIWELL has now been confirmed for Thurs 5th June at 2pm
Both STEVEN BERKOFF and JACK WHITE have cancelled their appearances

I guess Geri Haliwell is going to speak on Global warming, world peace, defeating terror and boob jobs!
A president travelled half a world to deliver a speech to a bunch of graduates, while his people back home find it difficult to buy bread.
Oh, he could have caught up with his son, while he was in the UK. Perks of the job, I guess.

Yes .

The LTTE is the premier human rights organization of the world . Other that for the small detail of murdering their own people for the 'Cause' they fight for the rights of all the oppressed in far flung lands . By the way it has been proven the Matin luther king Jr and Nelson Mandela were also LTTE members .

Velir,
Ps: the write of this speech for MR seems sadly lacking in knowledge about history

That is because Dr.Mervyn Silva wrote it and Kudu Lal edited it.

yep!:)))

lol!

check these comments out too!!

The government, although elected by a Sinhala Buddhist majority, represents a coalition of Sinhala, Tamil, and Muslim communities and all the religious groups in the country. You will be hard pressed to find a similarly representative government in any of the other democracies of the world.

WOW!:)))

I am proud of our vibrant parliamentary system, the strong judicial establishment, and the independent press.

:)))).LOL

We have not hesitated to adopt global standards, collaborate with international organizations such as the UN, ILO and the Commonwealth, and participate in efforts to consolidate institutions designed to protect the rights of our fellow humans.

UNHR office not welcome: Mahinda

We are a sovereign nation. We are not a nation that has just been freed from a superpower, nor just discovered democracy. Our consolidated position is that there is no room for a UNHCHR monitoring office in Sri Lanka, the Minister told The Nation in an interview.

:))))))))

and predictably not a SINGLE word about the origins of the conflict:)))))
