Premadasa was the most minority friendly President we had.
Although he didn't have much education, due to his hard work experience and common sense he could do anything.
Yes . I agree with you but it does not negate the other fact .Also he was lacking in common sense when it came to the most important decisions of his time.

Those who are calling Sinhalese are basically racists.
Ethnic superiority is one problem is Sri Lanka.
What do you call Singlecellese who call others by other names peelemist ,We Tamils and and a whole lot more?
Anyway we have stopped calling them Sinhalese as per our wishes......
We are now calling them by the most appropriate name ever.

MR had been given a 'good platform', and he was making the most of it.
Fact is there will always be 'rebels', and 'challengers' to 'established authority' .. that is the nature of the 'human condition'. (You can read about it in Robert Graves' classic .. 'The Golden Bough').
However, VP of the LTTE is a 'repugnant' individual .. cannot be easily fitted into the 'mould' of the traditional 'challenger'. He 'cooked-up' a filthy brew in training and deploying 'suicide cadres' .. now being copied else-where in the World .. for terrorising the public, and achieving the aims of the (terrorist) challenger.
MR is right to the extent .. VP must not be allowed to 'win', as that would put him on a 'pedestal', as the man who 'won' using this disgusting idea of 'driving' young men and women to 'suicide', and using 'suicide bombers' as methodology, and weapon ..

Premadasa also did mistakes like anyone. But he had the capacity to overcome his mistakes by his enormous ability.
