I am ok , other than for a bit of monday blues. and a bit of a hangover from yesterday .
I watched two bonehead movies yesterday . 'The Harold and Kumar sequel and the Forgetting Sarah Marshall' one . Hilarous.

I think VP has to blame himself for the NE demerger.
NE merger was the only tangible achievement to show for all the tears and destruction.This too was achieved with Indian help. A smarter politician would have consolidated this and moved on, embracing the Easterners too.
Karuna revolt was not a one man revolt and not just a GOSL plot. The fissures were there already. Due to it's military like organisation, LTTE was and is unable to handle dissent in a productive way.
20 years after the NE merger, after untold loss and suffering, we have lost the east. That's all that has been achieved. We are no closer to Eelam than we were in 1987.And we have antagonised the IC and India by our arrogant and stupid actions. |

most buddhists are tolerant, caring people from early days we are taught not to harm others and to have compassion.
I agree, I would have have said it myself.
The problem is not with the 'most' but with the 'least'.
You need only a few thugs to start a riot, ppl like you may give hiding places for the Tamils who are on the run, but, you won't stand up to oppose those thugs. That's is the difference between sweeping under the carpet and cleaning the place.
SWRD enacted Sinhala Only but to rectify his blunder he signed BC Pact. When Buddhist clergy and Opposition Party JRJ started the riot he torn the pact and surrendered to thuggery and hooliganism instead of standing up for justice and democracy (he had the support of 88 MPs against JRJ's 8).
When it comes to fight for justice 'most buddhists' are cowards. That's why Tamils had to take up arms to fight on your behalf and see justice done to all communities. |

You heard of Varatharaja Perumal? He thought like you, wanted to be 'smart' and became the CM of NEPC, but, cunning fox JRJ did not let him have power or money to do any development work. |
