Invincible

Monday, 12 May 2008 - 11:19 AM SL Time

This post is a continuum of the previous one.

I did not have enough time to convey my complete `interpretation` of the `Invincible` events previously.

A Sea Tiger boat could drop `Frogmen` and their `Gears` a few nautical miles away from anchored Sri Lankan Navy boat or ship.

Frogmen could also travel in a human torpedo, which came into the scene during the Second World War.

There is also possibility that frogmen could reach the target in an `underwater glider` first.

Then they could resurface a few nautical miles away from the target.

Frogmen could also use `underwater scooter` to propel them near the target.

Powered `underwater sled` could be used to drag down the frogmen and explosives.

Ship will be most probably be salvaged

Sinking of Navy ship: Evidence of suicide bomber

By Sunil Jayasiri

Navy divers yesterday recovered body parts of the suspected LTTE suicide cadre from the waters where the Tigers sank a navy cargo ship in the Trincomalee harbour on Saturday, the navy said.

Our divers found parts of the suicide cadre body along with diving equipment from the sea, Navy spokesman D.K.P. Dassanayake told the Daily Mirror yesterday.

The navy believes the suicide cadres had used a suicide jacket for the blast as only the lower part of the body was recovered.

He also said navy divers were now trying to re-float the sunken ship, which went down following the underwater suicide blast. The area was not very deep so the ship can be recovered in a short period, he said.

On Saturday evening, a suicide bomber carried out an underwater explosion damaging the 65 metre long ship named MV Invisible at the Ashraff jetty in the Trincomalee harbour. No one was injured due to the blast and later the ship went down as it was filled with water.

The spokesman also denied claims the underwater attack came when the supply vessel was being loaded with explosives to be transported to the Kankesanthurai Harbour in Jaffna.

The ship which had been seized by the navy while transporting some 250 illegal migrants from Pakistan off Tangalle in 2003, was handed over to it by a court order.

I thought this sunken ship was a worthless piece of junk, according to some military annalists in LNP.

Why should it be salvaged in the first place?

Maybe, SLN guys plan to remove damaged sunken ship's debris, because it could be blocking the harbor or docking facility - nothing else.

ML,

That is the problem with VP too. He is watching too many Hollywood movies, including James Bond, then he gets the ideas from them. :))

Yes, it says so, but it did not give any details how he died. But, definitely he was not the member of Trinco attack team.
