I spoke to 3 people in Batti today, 2 of them work for GOSL and very close with tamil people.
according to tehm Many didnt support UPFA. Only Some who trusted Karuna supported Pillayan,

If Tamils truly believed in a 'Tamil Eelam', why Tamils voting for SL Govt stooge Hon.Pilliyan?
Tamils in East have always been more passionate about the Tamil cause than Tamils from Jaffna, simply because Easterners are the worst victims of GOSL terror. Tamils are just doing what they have to under the circumstances. We have enough brain cells to not forget the ethnic cleansing, killing of aid workers, 5 students, destruction of Hindu Temples, and shooting down of non-violent protesters before 1983, all carried out by GOSL.
Why did Pillaiyan loose the Trinco vote? Obviously because TMVP have slightly less grip there.

good points, All Batti tigers were involved in that killing, now who are with GOSL.
Tigers who have good relationship with Muslim are with Praba now.

I think someone else from your own community has already intimated you on this.
There is no hunger for a separate state anymore......whether you like it or not, this is the reality...and the Eastern elections was just a reflection of it.
Trico was won by UNP bacause of the large Muslim vote for Hakeem (highest in preferential votes in Trinco)!
Eastern Tamils have shown what they want. There is no point trying to hide it now......

All the Muslims voted Pillayan Pillyan voted for Pillyan. Simple.Majorty dont like him.
There are people who support Pillyan bcz of Karuna.
Pillyan is known to all in batti bcz he joined Tigers when he was 14.People have been beniffited by Batti tigers supported Pillyan,

Eelamaya, PEELAm is successfully broken into two.
This is another Sinhala attempt to break the aspirations of Tamils. Tamils are not fools. Eventually Tigers will become a democratic party. The union of NE will be inevitable. Tamils will hold a referamnum in NE eventually. The world will then have no option but granting autonomy to Tamils! GOSL will learn the lesson in a different way!

EELamaya, TNA won with vote rigging.
This time, PFLT lost, did not get any votes.
Tigers tried to win this time too,.It did not work.
that means tamils don't like LTTE.
Earlier inthe Forum, Most LTTE tamils said, that TMVP was not popular in the east. How come TMVP won. Is it because UPFA ?
PFLT did not win at all ?
