Right you are, WRH. I would give it to the Air Tigers to replace their tin cans!
Sorry, Tiger Air planes are in top condition. Why would they want Mihin air planes.
SLAF are running short of planes. Maybe they will take it. GoSL need planes to transport supplies to the north, with the sinking of the ship air supply is the answer. |

Age, Flight Hours, Landings/Take-offs (cycles), Fatigue Meter readings .. Who & How the aircraft has been maintained .. are all related to 'aircraft quality', and its safe-operation. Even if ICAO has such a '15 year-old' rule .. it can only be a 'guide-line' it will not determine aircraft 'condition' conclusively - for safe operation. Anyway, we have a Civil Airworthiness Directorate manned by competent personnel .. if there is such an ICAO 'guide-line', feel sure they will be insisting Mihin-Air meets that directive.
But that is not the 'whole story' .. there is a lot more to 'aircraft condition'. |

It is learnt that Mihin is negotiating for these aircraft in the full knowledge that they are flouting the Civil Aviation Authority guidelines.
Thus no insurance coverage. If you die your family cries alone.

With rising fuel cost it is not the time to bankroll a failed airline.Unless there are ulterior sinister motives........... it is definitely not profitability.
Anyway what dose Mahinder care? It is not his money.
