Well Well.
No one dominating the number of seats.
Who ever holding the power of bullets will have some domination on the ground. Because, East still under siege by unwanted weeds.
It is good for tigers to stay out for while, where pillayan him self takes on against and understands well about the traps seeded infront of him. Many ('democratic lovers') will fall down by bullets.
No one wish that, but facts are remains same.

Wow! What a fantastic triumph of democracy over uncivilized terror and destruction of the LTTE thugs. This is indeed a massive victory in Global War on Terror (GWOT). We Yanks should take note of how a small country like Sri Lanka has battled a criminal terrorist enterprise, liberated the people and then held free and fair elections. I think this indeed is a model for us Americans in Afghanistan against AQ.

Isn't democracy a beautiful thing?

Cheers!

International election monitors embarrassed before media
(Lanka-e-News, May 12, 2008, 6.45 PM) The group of international election monitors who observed mere 15 polling centers says that the Eastern Provincial Council election was held in a free and fair manner.

They announced this through a media statement and a press briefing held in Colombo today (12).

The group of monitors includes 17 members from 10 Asian countries and they monitored Eastern Provincial Council election from May 08 to 11.

Addressing the press briefing, Chairman of the group Ms. Ming Hwa Tsai, Ms. Teresita de Liakko Florace and General Ayuv Azil said thanked the Election Commissioner for holding an election for the Eastern Province that was earlier a war zone.

As almost all the local election monitors criticized the election as a violent one in which malpractices were wide spread, media asked if the foreign investors did not see any such incident. The international monitors said that they did not see any such incident and further questioning of the media led them to reveal that they monitored only 15 polling centers.
