The whole ethnic problem is based on the unfair treatment of minorities . The Sinhalese have never been fair in anything so do not be surprised about this election.
Well what is happening in the east is not 100% Sinhalese, there are Tamil being involved too
Tamil are not being fair to Tamils :)) |

LoL.
As has happened so often in Sri Lanka's history, state terrorism wins again and democracy bites the dust!
The only force that can save the east is once again the 'terrorist' LTTE. |

Yeah.. yea.. ltte will give 'Democracy' to people. They already given it for last 20 years. These people do not know how many free and fair elections were held under LTTE.
Democracy is at its best under LTTE.

| Re whatreallyhap's post, thanks...you'll never see anywhere in the world support to one group or from all, I said the Majority's choice....remember, when we were kids or even now among us the moment you lose, you cry foul & begin to accuse the winning party about some weakness.......rigging has been there in all the Elections from 1948 onwards...this is not something new to S/L or other countries.....even in US or G/Britain elections there is some sort of it....overall the Govt has conducted an election free of any Killings/Murders/stabbing or shootings which we see in other elections...the greatest thing we should be proud of is that the ex-terrorists have given up arm struggle and embraced democratic way of achieving power....we will soon see a TAMIL chief minister and an Administration comprising Tamil/Muslim & Sinhala....Don't we think this is a great achievement???????????What we all wish is that S/Lanka should have peace, if North too can be liberated and have this type of Elections, and for an Administration with a Tamil Chief Minister our wishes will come true.....There are weaknesses in MR's Govt.....Who does not have weaknesses???????at least this President has done something which others could not...Hats off to this President.... |

Yes if 'Piripaharan' also give up arms like 'Pillayan', pople might forgive him and vote fo him to be the chief minister. Who knows..
So that he will be able to see some daylight for rest of his life. |

The difference between the LTTE and others is simply this. Mahinda, Karuna, Pillayan, Fonseka all have a limited shelf life, they come, they plunder and they disappear. But at the end of the day the LTTE is still here, just as strong and just as determined.
As for who's going to save the LTTE?
The LTTE needs no saving, the diaspora will always have its back :) |

North-East had a Tamil Chief Minister 1988/89, who declared UDI of Eelam when the then Sinhala Buddhist president JRJ refused to gove the PC money or power to carry out development projects. No point in repeating history.
Sinhala racists must realise that repeated riots, repeated killings, repeated bombings, repeated abductions and repeated PC elections will never convince Tamils or even Muslims and Sinhala hegemony is NOT tolerable.
