Since independence, every time Sri Lanka had held an election the reality of Eelam had gotten closer. The election in east is same... Eelam gotten even closer... VP will have trouble stopping laughing!

I read even in 1939, tamils did not want free - elections in Sri Lanka as they can not win the majority.
So, we can understand why extremist tamils play down the free elections. |

Bush won by declaring war against terrorists.
No Bush lost, his popularity is the worst any US President has ever had, the economy is the worst after a long time, has no way of comming out of Iraq and Bin Laden is still live and kicking.
True. Bush's 'war against terror' is directed only against Muslim groups which oppose Israel and U.S. hegemony. The non-Muslim groups in Bush's list are there as a show to indicate that his list is comprehensive and includes all terrorists. He may take some cosmetic action against LTTE but don't get carried away.
With MR cosying towards Iran, Bush might call off all actions against the LTTE either covertly or overtly to send the message that it is Uncle Sam who decides what to do with which 'terrorists' |
