The funny thing about this incident is that the vessel is - or was- called Invincible. When it comes to the LTTE nothing is invincible.

The other funny thing is about the farcical claim that 'the East is clear'. The LTTE attacks from Trincomalee to Ampara in the last few days - Mavil Aru LTTE-TMVP clash, Mortar fire in Amparai and the attack on Trinco harbour all indicate that the East is indeed not 'clear'.

And an other funny thing about this invincible ship is, the sinhala pirates or the so called state navy snatched this ship from the Russians, georgian people smugglers!

The Sri Lanka Navy seized this ship in 2003 when it was reportedly involved in a people-smuggling operations. Operated by a Russian or Georgian crew, it had 250 Pakistanis on board, who had flown legitimately to Colombo, the BBC reported.

It is believed that Tigers used a newly developed submarine to to this underwater attack on one of the biggest ships SLN owned.

Once Tigers get a complete fleet of these micro submarines, SLN will have to operate from Maldives!

SLAF fighter jets made precision air strikes at an LTTE artillery launching pad and ammunition storage located North of Nedunkerni in Mullaithivu today(May 10) at 12.15 p.m.

Pilots have confirmed sporadic explosions followed by smoke clouds rising from the target location, during low diving observations made subsequent to the air sorties, Air Force sources said.

The destroyed LTTE location was constantly been used as an LTTE artillery launching pad where several indiscriminate attacks were mounted at civilian settlements bordering Welioya, sources further said.
