If i rem correctly..troop carries/supply ships are huge vessels..compared to the usual dvoras.
must have been a big attack.
and if this was done in the trinco harbor..how the hell did the commandos get in? isnt the trinco harbor supposed to be one of the most heavily guarded one in the country? |

The A520 supply ship and troop carrier has been engaged by the Sri Lanka Navy in its attacks against Tiger vessels in 2007.

It certainly is and a lot of their defense strategies are based on recommendations from American military experts. The same expert opinion that formed the basis of EP defense at one time. All goes to show that the Sinhalas cant have a day of peace or security until Thamil Eelam is reality.
This is a spectacular attack but I am probably wrong in my prediction of Sinhala navy personnel killed if it is in fact a docked ship.
yes, the fact that such 'impregnable' and 'impenetrable' places are nothing to tigers is bound to come as a shock to many Sl military top-brass.
i think this was done by the tigers to show that they can strike at any place they choose.

Yesterday, a white Australian of Catholic origins but who does not practice any religion said that she did not appreciate Buddhist monks in meditation most of the time. Yet, she showed interest in Shridi Baba rather than Sathya Sai Baba who is more about leading us through the material world. I said to the lady that if she was not critical she would benefit from the meditation by the monks. By being critical she was actively rejecting such benefits that would commonly flow.

so the tigers not only went into the 'impregnable' trinco harbor but also sunk the FLAGSHIP of the SLN???

Guys
1. It was at 2 am. I hope there sweren't many people in the vessel
2. I think LTTE is using Torpedos or submarines
3. Sayura was donated by India and it won't be long before India donates another one.
More importantly I hope the vessel blocks the entrance to the harbour and thus prevents GOSL from moving more troops to Jaffna to continue this blood letting.
Finally these achievements will count to nothing when LTTE cannot consolidate anything politically. The only tangible achievement that Tamils achieved for such a prolonged, costly struggle was NE merger, with Indian help. With the Karuna split, that has gone with the wind.
That's why I say do not support this watr from either side:)) |
