U have forgotten abt the corruption that dodges SLA. what will be the morale of SLA when they heard that the commander wife is flying in 40 million car, while they were crawling in mud.

Thats why I said politics.
That means even within SLA.
But, there are many good generals and good solders in the army.
Some of you guys may say that Prabha is Dictator but he is a Democrat and gives respect to the views of the Fellow commanders. that is why he is so successful.
Its no need to argue, VP is a dictator. But, may be a positive person for LTTE followers. I agree with that. And he has a good determination with a cruel heart.
But, like in any army, there must have some people dont like VP among Tamils (like Karuna).

They just blame the successive govt for their own fault. they blamed jrj for 77 and 83, then they blame chandrika tommarrow they will blame Mr but they will keep electing harder and harder leaders. the winning of sl election is simply depend on how you make tamils live miserable. Singhalese don't care whether the govt will be able to provide them pan and parrippu but they care to make sure that tamils won't live in peace and dignity. |

Once we settle for peace, then we forget the blood, and move to the development, then, things will be easy to settle.
But, if GOSL wanted to end the war quickly, this referendum would have been done long before the bad blood developed. Then, we would be talking about two powerful nations in the island or a friendly union of two nations.
We wasted 30 years already and there is no guarantee that we would not spend another 30 years barking on the same old tree!

What was the need for Mahinda Mama to liberate People in N/E. Did they come to him & tell him to liberate ?
They could just offer a devolution & tamils will be happy.
Why are they not offering even the small things that bring joy to tamils ?

Above is just an imagination I think.
Reality is Sri Lankans are much busy with struggling to find income to coop with the cost of living. They even dont talk a lot about the war.
And clearly, general Sinhala people dont count war as a war against Tamils. They think its against LTTE.
So, when there is a survey, may be some favored idea can dominant, due to the harsh memories of LTTE bombs/killings.
But, they like to have a political solution.

His approval ratings are however affected by dissatisfaction expressed by all ethnic groups with regards to his management of the economy

that's what majority of singhalese reject ranil and elect MR.

LTTE /GoSL /oppositions /Arm forces / Arm brokers/LNP forum all just surviving because of the WAR.
If there is no war, we all have many things to look after in our own back yard.
Just discussing/ writing posts after post and page after pages gave no sign of end of this war.

If we truly felt without expecting any benefits including wins in this forum - then our work has already contributed to a solution. We must find our own end to the war by taking the essence of our work in this forum to the next stage of our Sri Lankan life/project
