It is attractive bet.. but, I am not sure if we can get credible numbers on these. I do not think exit polls in SL are reliable.
I will take a rain check for now on a bet.
Dude you should come to sri lanka, to south and see how people live in peace. If you have money in SL people respect you they wouldn't care if you are Tamil or sinhala.
The problem is when some riot occurs, and you happened to be on the road, thugs can get you. They do not care whether you are poor or rich, probably worse if you are rich, they will just burn you. I am not sure times have changed that much to have full faith in Sinhalese.

i agree. but every society have opportunists. 83 was state sponsored riots many were manned by political opportunists but the majority of the sinhalese did their best to protect the Tamils.
Can i go to Vanni now ? or do i need to be a Tamil

I dont like bombs. Had LTTE not fired bullets in 83 we would not see bombs today :)

Of course not.. they will catch you for being a spy... but this is war time. Even in the South, Tamils are being rounded up...
But, looking ahead, a solution must be in the cards. I do not care it is Tigers or whoever, some justice for Tamils must be in the cards.

The results of just one survey is not representing millions of people. Also, people only against LTTE since they have chosen the violent path from the beginning.
South is not against Tamils.
War has made endless difficulties for both communities, but LTTE also must have the responsibility to settle the issue by stopping bloodshed.
Most of you, directly think all problems are coming from Sinhalese. But, try to accept weaknesses that Tamil politicians also had in past. South is ready for a power sharing solution. Its time for LTTE and GOSL to sit and work for best for all Sri Lankans.
If we stick to the failed yesterday,..tomorrow will give us nothing. |
