I left Sri Lanka to work in Papua New Guinea and it was purely for money purposes.
I came to Australia because my husband Param whom I met in PNG wanted to come here. Why did Param want to come here? Due to his attraction towards British based education.
I find that various degrees of these purposes are in every migrant. What matters is where we get to with those purpoes - whether we are able to make a 'home' for ourselves - it does not matter which part/s of the world. It just must feel homely - where you feel you hurt when someone in the family hurts. This is why I raise the question as to whether Sinhalese belong in Jaffna.

I went to U.S last year..I never removed the shoes or stopped and checked but when i was coming back in Ohio airport they did check me but they were very polite. I suppose that was one of the days where they have done enough for the day..lolz
what you heard from SG is the same answer you will probably get in HK. but if you go further and write to them, they will call you and explain and if your still not happy they will invite you to their office and take you through their procedure. They will never accept discrimination.

This may be news to you but that is how govts work everywhere in the world .
If you know me you would know that that is the history I am working to change towards more democratic and participatory governance.
They are put in place by the people and they do the best they can . Sometimes some people will disagree but life has to go on.
Some times few courageous persons keep opposing anyway they can and that is the greater contribution to democracy and independence.

Sinhalese belong in Jaffna.
I think the answer is clear a Sinhalese belongs in jaffna as much as you belong in PNG or Australia or me in the US or Berty in HK . lol |

Thank u..so you were in PNG.do you know Thilliampalam? I think he was in the accounting field? i am not sure whether he is still there..
Ur absolutely right on choosing a place to live and from what you have mentioned may be you were looking for your kids future..
In HK we have great English schools which will take to to UK uni..my two children are from UK uni's.
I have a choice to get a HK passport if i want but since their requirement is to give up SL PP i am bit reluctant. one day I want to go back to SL. I love the place.. |

I will make that simple..Srilanka belongs to Sri lankans.
I am not sure where that will leave You Gaja with Australian passport..lolz

It is a workload to satisfy your own at times!! I won't even think of going further..!
We have to be happy if we can satisfy our own..That in itself will be a Great achievement.lolz
