If this allows one to win wars the JVP will be running the country
More than 90% of JVP in 71 & 89 did not even know the cause they were fighting for in order to have any belief in it.
The leadership was more interested in accumulating personal wealth. They considered anyone with any financial means as their enemy. These and many other factors did not help them get accepted by the grater community and that was why they were unable to run the country and this is the same reason they will never run the country.
They will always be spoilers but never rulers. |

The slow movement is productive by the terms of hurting LTTE, but same time, it gives a sort of political advantage for LTTE too.
What the overall advantage is, this slow phase may open a window for talks.
The political advantage is to talk incessantly about the cost of living in Sri Lanka(Where they have no intention of living)
About the deaths of our soldiers etc . Coming up with strange alternate universe theories about who killed civilians in this bomb blast and that.
If that causes the LTTE to actually come to the negotiation table he has achieved his goal hasn't he . If not I am sure a second phase is planned.
I am not 100% on the seniority but Janaka never made it to Lt Gen I think. |

Voodoo,
Thats the problem that they never moving forward but backward.
Those who fight for belief do not move forward or backward. They just participate. Given that the GOSL has proven incapable of developing a solution, we have to find our own solution whilst the Tigers keep the balance by fighting just for participation. We, the civilians will show the wins from their work through business and international policy contribution.

DVL,

This is wrong I think.
Though they have many weaknesses, even lower level members of JVP know at least main principles of the party. This is totally different from all other parties.
The weak adaptation to the changing world keeps JVP away from the mass, thats a different fact.

Yes they are forced to fight
Facts do not support this argument. If people are forced to fight against their will then you will have large scale defections like in SLA where soldiers make a decision that money or cause is not worth sacrificing their life. Two you will be able to gather lot of info like how LTTE is doing. |

DVLADV - This is BS , they were extremely well indoctrinated . Read about the history about the JVP and Wijeweera. I lived through the second insurrection and believe me .
As for leaders living cushy lives Wejeweera did not lead any more cushy compared with Velu . Infact he was a pauper compared to velu. |

What preventive measures has the GOSL taken to ensure that this does not weaken Tamils who are not directly involved in the battles?
Gaja as you well know all the food fuel and services in the peelam homeland is generously being maintained by the govt in spite of the fact many of these items and services are stolen and used by the LTTE. |

Ops,..you trapped..!
Anyway, people will love to see, if LTTE turn to be another JVP in SL political arena.
That must be the best solution.
