because you have fought and always fought, a violent cause
let me fix that for you:
because you have fought and always fought AGAINST a violent cause, yes that cause being theft of the entire island for Sinhala Buddhists only with everyone else living at your mercy.
Sorry to spoil your fun for 30 years and counting :)

Do you know why GOSL/SLA is blocking him
Sansare bro, that's an easy one, because he is a UNP supporter, or vice versa, anyway he has some UNP connection. |

Revy, Good day.
It seems not only UNP relation I think.
There are some stories about Janaka and Fonseka too.
Janaka did a ruthless control of JVP in 1989 (as I remember, he was in Sabaragamuwa region).
Anyway, he is an efficient person.

If I am not mistaken Janaka Perera and Fonseka are similar seniority . But Janaka Perera is more connected to the UNP . I think they were both instrumental in thwarting the LTTE push for Jaffna .
Janaka Perera is critical of the current strategy . But I think Fonseka has this well thought out . He realizes doing operations like Jaya Sikuru will only come with big headlines but huge losses for the army . They are obviously playing a chess game . His intention is to weaken the LTTE significantly before attacking . He is probing them from many fronts while strangling the supply routes etc .

DVLADV,
Nothing. This is why they are determined. They are not fighting for the love of money or fill their stomach but for the belief in the cause.
I fully identify with that. Until someone shares in that belief - they would not develop a real solution.

Andy,
If I am not mistaken Janaka Perera and Fonseka are similar seniority .
Someone (a very very UNP one) told me Janaka is the senior.
Today, we see, Janaka and Fonseka are having different plans for the war.
The slow movement is productive by the terms of hurting LTTE, but same time, it gives a sort of political advantage for LTTE too.
What the overall advantage is, this slow phase may open a window for talks.

If this allows one to win wars the JVP will be running the country . |

What preventive measures has the GOSL taken to ensure that this does not weaken Tamils who are not directly involved in the battles?
