Dvladv,
To do this the mindset of the has to be changed. That my friend, will be a long time coming. Remember what I said about the Stockholm Syndrome?
Thing is this, Some one has to take charge that can keep the military under them for the good of the country. That is the key to maintaining stability that is needed to move forward to an amicable solution. They have to be able to hold that for maybe 10 years until things can be called settled.. Needs a visionary who the forces will trust from the get go, Punnakku drinking modayas will support after a while and the Tamil people will start to trust later.
Needs a lot of balls dude.. I hope there is that person somewhere. |

108 Sri Lankan soldiers on UN Peace Keeping Mission in Haiti were investigated and found to be involved in illegal sex with underage girls. They were also found to have raped the underage girls. This is a criminal offence but according to UN regulations only Sri Lankan government can investigate and punish the offenders.
According to Sri Lankan culture of crimes and impunity the authorities let the soldiers go free. None of the soldiers were punished for the crimes for which some civilised countries punish with capital punishment. |

Sri Lankan Military Officer admits that MI intelligence is responsible for the recent bus bus bombing for which the govt blamed LTTE as usual.
Lankan MI behind the Bus Bomb
Seda Punkt
Sri Lankan Military Intelligence is behind the Colombo bus bomb that killed 25 and wounded 75, a source familiar with Lankan MI operations. Recent losses and battlefield defeats for the military is not the news the government wanted couple of weeks before the Eastern Election. |
