But don't wait in a safe distance, far away from the scene

How about you And the Tamil Diaspora? Are they in the battle field? Phooh!

p007,
We are in the middle of a war. Do you expect soliders to say Lullaby other than killing each other?

Wick, the solution to the ethnic conflict is to eliminate racist b#$#@# like you. Peace will then return on its own.
How idiotic is this guy Wick to even imagine that he can eliminate a race from this earth.

What the writer wants to say is 'defeat MR in the next election and bring UNP back to power'.

That is the message in the article.

What he says is only UNP/Ranil can find a reasonable solution.

More than two decades of war and still no end in sight. Isn't enough is enough? Can't you see that this war is meaningless and no body gains except the arm merchants and commis kakas and the corrupt politicians? Can't you understand that it is the poor and innocent villagers - Sinhalese, Tamils and Muslims - who are paying the price?

Whether Sinhalese, Tamils or Muslims, aren't we all children of mother Lanka? Why can't we sort out our problems by reaching out to each other? Why should we make ourselves pawns in the hands of a few scheming crooks and racists?

The people of the North and East have suffered long enough. The people of the South are also beginning to feel the pains and anxieties of war. The check points, the bomb explosions, the wailing sirens of ambulances carrying the dead, the dying and the wounded, the sudden cordon and search operations and disruption to livelihood of those who depend on daily work or trade, have brought home the reality of war to the people of the South. How much longer can they take it?

It is high time this hatred of one human to another is set aside. It is high time it is understood that the majority community cannot eliminate the minorities. It is high time we said 'farewell to arms'.

P007,
What you say is correct and I 100% agree with you.
Why can t we sort our problems by reaching out to each other?
Yes of course, but is it possible? Govt. is always ready to have discussions if VP ready lay down arms. Because of the bitter experience we had in the past we will not approve Govt. laying down arms initially.
The problem is this. VP promised you people that he will get a separate state for Tamils and to shot him if he gives up the idea.
So VP leading you people just like in a children's story Pied Piper led all the children away from the town of Hamelin by playing beautiful music after the town officials refused to pay him.
Laying down arms Govt. itself can't do. Isn't it?
We are not damn bloody war mongers. But as we are in the middle of a war, even with reluctance, have to support the war.
If not again we, Sinhalese, would be third class citizens of our own country like before 1956.

How idiotic is this guy Kamal2006 to even imagine that Tamils can establish a Peelam in Sri lanka.

You imagine something that you can't and I imagine something that I can't.

But the intention is there.

Thambi if you hit I hit, you no hit I no hit. :-)))))

I am glad that you agree with me 100%.

Yes of course, but is it possible?

VP is the other side of Racism - of the Tamil variety. Both the Tamil Racist goal of a separate state and the Sinhala racist goal of eliminating the Tamils are destructive and must be shunned.

True peace talks never got very far mainly because of the LTTE's obstinacy. But that doesn't mean the GOSL, including the Sinhala Polity, is blameless. How many times have the agreements and proposals put forward by the SLFP been thwarted by the UNP and vice versa?

The Sinhala Polity should stop playing politics with this problem and reach a consensus on the solution to the grievances of the Tamils and Muslims which will be acceptable to the majority of the Tamils. This will obviously marginalise the LTTE.

The problem has always been the unscrupulous Sinhala politicians who were playing into the hands of the Sinhala extremists. As I have mentioned in my first post in this thread, even today, this govt. is pandering to the Sinhala extremist agenda in the East. The East has been'liberated' from the LTTE only to be made a playing field for the Sinhala Racists. If this continues, God Forbid, there will be more and more blood bath and the country will sink deeper and deeper into a bottomless pit.

'I pressed the button on the remote control device, when I was near the clock tower. I saw the bus being blown up and bodies of passengers strewn on the road. People, who were walking on the road close by, too, had fallen down on the road'
This shocking confession had been made to Pliyandala Police, by a suspected terrorist identified as, Sityanandan Anandan Sudhakaran alias Appan, alias wsanthan. They plan to explode 8 bombs.

If I suggest this LTTE son of a B..tch should be chop into pieces, LTTE Morons like Sritharan, Kaml2006 will take their Vetti to their shoulders and do a Voodoo dance against me.

To make this confession, I can imagine, what treatment this idiot has got in the Police Station. Bugger must be thinking it is million times better if he would have not born.

A suspect does not have to 'make' a confession, the police make it out for him! He will suffer torture only if he refuses to sign it! There is no video or audio recording of the interogation of suspects in Sri Lanka.

Under the normal Criminal Procedure in Sri Lanka and the Evidence Ordinance confessions are not admissible as evidence unless made to a senior police officer above the rank of ASP or a magistrate. But under the Prevention of Terrorism Act any confession is admissible as enabled by the legislators.
