Any way, Sri Lankan tamils are group of people as we Sinhala people say 'WALIGE PAGAGANE KGEHANA' group of people.
Tamils talked about their Grand library and literature. AS opposed to Sinhala people who have many books about the nation, country, Buddhism, poetry and the culture and ALL WERE WRITTEN IN SRILANKA by Sinhala people whether it is monks or not. On the other hand, Tamils have three books all of which were written in South India and two are related to Jainism and other one related to Buddhism.
Sri Lankan tamil alnguage is another soup of Sinhala, Malayali, TN- Tamil and malaysian - Indonesian langagues
Like wise, tamils are also Malayalis, Sinhala - concerted to tamils, south Indian tamils etc.,
there are no Brahmins in Sri Lanka, By conventio, there cannot be Brahmins out side India though some claim.
Tamils have about 800 years of History in Sri Lanka. YEt they are obsessed with 'TAMILNESS' and there are many castes which they should not have.

Looks like Velir has been suffered a lot due to the caste system.
BTW what is your caste? Anud has shown a lot. Are you below all of them?
Since the lower caste are more talkative on that system than any other.

The Society that Live has wealth for that. Poor homeless are treated like thrash.
If you accept that it leaves a scar in your mind. Sinhala people remind about Castes because the CASTE has played a big role in this Tamil Violence. Even in Sinhala society, Caste has a hidden role but not as severe as in the Tamil Society.
At present, Sri Lanka does not have an Aristocratic (Radala Wallwwa) caste which is powerful.
Bandarannaike and Senanakes are not Radalas. they were just educated and rich because they were the closest to las t colonial power of British.
Other than that, present politicians at the top are non from so-called 'HIGH CASTES'.
