the problem we have in SL in Tamil terrorism. The extremist determination of a mono ethnic Tamil land (home)
this is the very reason why the concept ELAM is called the TAMIL ELAM. also the very reason why non Tamils were butchered or chased away from LTTE areas.

Are they still not willing to consider a negotiated settlement? If so, will they send their sons into battle?
I think average people in both sides will want peace but the ones who really control (and who does not send their sons to the front) does not want. At this point neither party willing to go for negotiations so the war will continue..

That is not true. Nadesan did offer a ceasefire about a month ago which the Government did not accept. The Government CANNOT accept because of the extremist elements in it. The only hope is that the relatively decent guys in the Government like Karu Jayasuriya and D.M. Jayaratne will revolt.
