Mahadev,
I was referring to SLA casualties only, since the charge was that its the Sinhalese who wanted war....
Yes, both sides have gone through unimaginable trauma. no doubt.
CFA was exactly the reason why 84% Sinhalese now support a military solution for LTTE, despite the huge cost of human lives and the economic burden.
We can hem and haw about CFA violations from both sides all day, but the bottomline is that Sinhalese feel LTTE made mockery of CFA and they will never accept anything less than a separate state. period!
We have nothing against Tamils. The feeling is that there should be a military solution for LTTE terrorism and Political solution for Tamils....

Freedom
You said IRA has been around for 300 years. IRA was formed in 1916 from Irish Volunteers, which in turn, was formed in 1913.
So all I ask of you is, when making sweeping statements like that, please ensure that they are accurate:)) |

History repeats itself, not once or twice but as many times as the number of Sri Lankan chauvinist leaders. It repeated twice during JRJ times.
RW was forced to negotiate after 2001 defeat at Pallai and destruction of aircrafts at the Katnunayake Air Field.
MR is nearing such inevitability as there are no more medical facilities available to treat the wounded soldiers. This time too many soldiers met their fate as they were on the retreat following the push by their chief SaDeath Fonseka into the death trap laid by the LTTE.
The Sinhalese leaders have no personal loss as their children are comfortable in foreign countries but the poor parents and wives who lost their loved ones are organising themselves to confront the greedy chauvinist leaders. |

143 SLA bodies fill 3 funeral parlours in Colombo
The bodies of 143 soldiers who were killed in yesterday s battles in Muhamalai and Kilaly have been brought to three funeral parlours in Colombo, Lanka Dissent reliably learns.
The funeral parlours situated in Battaramulla, Malabe and Borella have received 38, 30 and 75 bodies respectively, defence sources said.
The Defence Ministry reported that 43 soldiers died from fierce battles in the forward defence lines of Muhamalai and Kilaly while 120 were injured.
In addition, 33 soldiers are reported as missing, the Ministry added.
However, the Tamil Net website said that at least 150 soldiers had died while over 400 received injuries.
The website also said that bodies of 30 soldiers have been recovered and that 19 of them brought to Killinochchi to be handed over to Red Cross officials.

ML & PMSri,
Am I to understand from your references to the origins of tamils and sinhalas of Sri Lanka that we both, tamils and sinhalas of today, are the products of unrestricted and widespread fornication between the South Indians, Bengalis, tamils and sinhalas?
