That's not true srimal111. You wont get six tenders for no evidence.

Not only that. You won't get Norwegians becoming overly concerned about conflict resolution in Sri Lanka for no evidence of any oil.

Of 6, five tenders were from India which seems to be virtually owning almost half Colombo land and many private investments. Slanka is deeply indebted to India and cannot get out of that situation easily.

This is another cook and bull story fabricated by JVP. Let me tell you for the last time, NOrway is not interested in any natural resources Slanka has or presumed to have. It is in the mind of rotten Slankans that they judge others by own standards. Norway is one of the richest countries in the world with over US$70,000 per capita. Slanka is a rotten apple.

Remember the GOLD DEPOSITS found in Indonesia and the subsequent tragedy where the Geotech Engineer allegedly was pushed from the helicopter/committed suicide.

You can certainly receive not 6, it could be even 25. Because everything is based on the Geo physical studies of the plot. Who knows if every or most of the tech info is cooked up to create interest in this business again like what happened in Indonesia.

Good luck Lanka.

If you dig deep enough you can pump water but not oil!
Petroleum is a fossil fuel and formed from the remains of sea plants and animals died million of years ago and localize in certain areas under the earth crust.

There is no Nico Resources in Cyprus. I can't seem to find one online ..

Nico Resources is the Canadian partner of Reliant Industries of India. They are very well informed on petroleum resource/prospects in the region. They have an impressive 'track' record in drillings off-shore India, Bangladesh ..

Am prepared to bet Nico/Reliant Industries will be the first to 'strike' oil/gas off-shore Sri Lanka .. especially if they manage to get their preferred 'block' in the current bidding ..

This is the 'traditional' teaching on the origination of petroleum resources .. put forward by British and American geologists. However this theory is rejected by Russian (and Ukrainian) scientists. They hold the view that the creation of this 'resource' is a continuing process and occurs at the level of the earth's mantle. Calcium Carbonate (lime-stone), and Water coming together in the presence of Iron (as catalyst).. under conditions of pressure and temperature found at the 'mantle' .. is said to lead to the spontaneous 'creation' of the range of heavy hydro-carbon molecules we associate with 'petroleum'. Russians are totally convinced of their theory .. and have demonstrated the process under simulated (laboratory) conditions. This so-called 'Russian/Ukrainian' theory is receiving increasing attention from leading American scientists. Anyway if the proof of the 'pudding is in the eating', we have to take note .. Russia is emerging as the leading petroleum (gas/oil) exporting nation in the world !

Norway is not interested in any natural resources Slanka has or presumed to have. It is in the mind of rotten Slankans that they judge others by own standards. Norway is one of the richest countries in the world ..

So says raigamaya ..

He is un-aware of a decision taken by the Norwegian Parliament, some-time ago. There is a resolution in their Statute Book .. to try to conserve oil/gas resources coming under Norwegian territorial waters (North Sea Oil/Gas) .. for the use of future generations (of Norwegians), and to pursue in finding and exploiting oil/gas resources else-where in the world. Sri Lanka and its off-shore oil/gas resources (of which there is no doubt), thus becomes a 'prime target' of Norwegian cupidity.

(Feel sorry for 'raigamakolla' .. he is shame-less, and I believe un-redeemable. He has 'discounted' his own-kind as worthless. So, what sort of 'self-worth' does he have ?)

Can India lay claim to some of this oil? That's what I'm worried about.
