If hope is not a solution, then what is?
Yet, there can be no peace with the LTTE as long as separatism is its cause and terrorism is its means.
The day Tamil nationalists at home and abroad begin to realize the true aspirations of Sri Lankan Tamils and negate its current course for a policy which promotes peace and unity, we may have a start towards a place called hope.

Surrendered LTTE militants want to leave country
Jaffna (PTI): The LTTE militants and sympathisers who have surrendered are putting pressure on the Sri Lankan government to arrange for overseas jobs for them, fearing assassination at the hands of the Tamil Tigers for having deserted the outfit.
'We always fear for our life by the LTTE though we have been put up in well guarded buildings,' the former LTTE activists told a group of journalists here recently.
One of them even threatened to commit suicide if he was not sent out of the camp soon for a job abroad.
'My family is managing by selling our remaining ornaments. We cannot last long. I have seven dependents. If I am not given an overseas job along with a air ticket you may find me hanging,' a former Tiger rebel said.
According to officials some of them were in a mentally disturbed state, after having worked under tough and hostile conditions for the Tigers.
Some of the former LTTE sympathisers in the camp who interacted with the reporters also desired to go abroad quickly so that they could settle down.
The government is arranging for an employment orientation programme for the 54 surrendered activists, a senior military official said, adding, 'this would include courses of motor mechanics and other jobs'.
A committee under the supervision of the President's office will be monitoring the programme for providing foreign jobs for the surrendered LTTE activists, an official said.
The funds are also being arranged for training purposes, the official said adding the tenure of the orientation would vary from six months to one year. |

I don't think GOSL can be bullied with weapons.
There are 2 thing wrong in your statement.
1- You do not have what it takes to think.
2- GoSL don't need to be bulliedin any way, they are a bunch of losers who will ( given enough time) will sell the whole country to anyone who is willing to pay. |

From Sunday Leader...
We finally asked him why the army spent Rs. 44 million on a luxury vehicle when it could not be used by the Army Commander or any senior officer at risk from the LTTE due to the fact that it was not armoured.
'What is your problem (gattaluma) with the price of the vehicle?' he retorted. It is not us who have a problem, we thought to ourselves, but the starving masses. Sources have revealed to The Sunday Leader that the vehicle is intended not for Army Commander Sarath Fonseka, but allegedly for the use of his wife.
Poor village idiots attain Nirvana in Mannar daily.

When we visited Jaffna town last week, it appeared to be buzzing with life. People were attending to their New Year shopping while Tamil music blared in the background--probably from the shops that were being decorated for the festivities. Buses were plying and young girls were cycling to temple even as dusk fell.
not to mention that were in a buffel armored(only looking through the bullet proof windows) Vehicle and no public was allowed to go on the road and imposed curfue.this is how we can describe the situation the untold sorty from our vechile.
