Stating his extreme displeasure over a news-feature, that appeared in our sister paper The Bottom Line, Military Spokesman Brigadier Udaya Nanayakkara has cautioned the writer of the said copy. In any case, we should bear in mind that not all members of the Tamil liberation enterprise want to live in peace whatever the circumstances.
No amount of social justice or equality will cure the Elamist/Terrorist sect of the Tamil nationalism, also not forgetting that racism, inequality, injustice are and will most likely remain for as long as the universe exists.
The LTTE terrorists seek only apocalyptic nihilism, the Elam, nothing more and nothing GOSL or anybody else does matter.
The only consequence of GOSL s counter insurgency is that could be harmful is that it makes it harder for the hate preaching and tribal minded Diaspora to support the GOSL s effort. The effort that s been considered a struggle against a plague, a cancer, which is spread by bloodthirsty vampire movement, by depraved opponents of civilization itself.

Life in Jaffna....
It is an encouraging news to hear that the Jaffna area is bustling with Festivities connected with the Sinhala & Tamil New Year.
It should be remembered that tiger terrorist activities can not be eliminated in a 'jiffy'.
Terrorists have to 'survive' by demanding money from shopkeepers and the rich elite. What is disturbing to hear is why the SLDF are 'not informed' by them and why the SLDF do not take action to apprehend the terrorist, as complained by traders.
If the SLA can take more action, Jaffna and other 'terrorist infested' areas can become safer for civilian population.
Can the Defense Minister and the Defense Chiefs take urgent action to change the situation, in the name of Peace & Harmony in the New Year? |

No point of SINCERELY HOPING things when no one is working sincerely.
I don't think GOSL can be bullied with weapons.
Only way is LTTE stopping violence. |
