where got that Statisitic of GDP contribution from of the North East Tamils
I wonder if GDP are tabulated based on race for one to make such pinpoint analysis. How many GDP by Tamils, etc, by province or district.
In fact If one looks closely, Tamils living in Sinhala areas probably make more contributions to GDP than many Sinhlayas. Look at Colombo and tea estate areas...
NE GDP numbers are low because no input of materials going into any production due to govt policies.. |

Dear AnuD,
I just check the press release of Central Bank report. It says GDP contrinution of North in 2005 was 3.0 and 2006 was 2.9.
East in 2005 was 4.5 and 2006 was 4.6
So together it makes 7.5
Uva 4.7 and North Central - 4.3 during this period
I am talking about GDP shares.
GDP growth rates are below:
North in 2005 it was 19.0 and in 2006 it was 15.3
East in 2005 it was 13.6 and in 2006 it was 18.1
National average growth rate in 2005 was 16.5 and in 2006 it was 18.4
I do not understand where on the earth you got such Less that 1% figures.
Remember the North East showed this much of growth with minumum investment from the government.
If you have any moderate Sinhala friend or relatives who worked with Tamil, ask them to know their hard work and sincerity!!
