Aani
I saw your questions addressed to Gaja
Sorry , yesterday i offered to answer her question but you refused lolz
I would have given the same answers except instead of Thambi, I would have called him Anna!!
Calling people 'SIR' is very much alive in Sri Lanka..I agree we will always call our Teachers/Lectures as Sir but in offices still they call their superiors as 'SIR' in SL
In Hong Kong, we use the first name only even when your calling the CHIEF EXECUTIVE of HKSAR |

Sansare,
I always think your(and some other positive thinking Tamils) broad views on this conflict may give a good input to Sri Lanka. And I wish you are strong to maintain your vision with kindness to all Sri lankas.
They will and you add your own strength to that pool. In terms of support and respect for the government - we have the obligation to provide intellectual support through their rules and policies in Public Administration. To the extent an issue / matter is not covered by their rules/policies - we are entitled to be driven by our Truth and Natural Justice will uphold this.
In terms of group power - my subjective vote for matters outside Public Admin is for those who naturally identify with me - be it as Tamils, Sri Lankans, or as Australians. Nature is protected by Natural Justice - even though sometimes it may seem wrong to others - for example my support for Tigers. Public Admin comes first to me. Beyond that - my strengths are best used through the group that naturally identifies with me. When I am part of that group I would do my best to not let the group hurt others' earned benefits and opportunities. That is my basic principle.
love
gaja
