Sri Lanka Trade Minister comes home with 50,000 MT of rice from Myanmar

Sri Lanka`s Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister, Bandula Gunawardena returned home from an official tour in Myanmar with 50,000 MT of rice, government sources said.
Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa made the request to get the rice stock from Myanmar to ease the burden on the public due to escalating rice prices.

By the time rice stocks reaches lanka, prices will go over Rs100+, whats the commis,or loan,
This Pan Ma-ru-wa(Bandula) says, a loaf of bread will go almost Rs100,

Myanmar gives 50000 MT of rice.
Solvakiya gives 10000 military missiles.
Our duty is to feed Paraba and his people with missiles but not with rice.

| Sri Lanka use to be call the granary of east now buying rice from Myanmar.May be Reserve Bank Governor Cabrall is wright country is doing so well we don't have to plant and harvest rice instead buy from other countries. Is this a possibility. |

The Minister has brought the rice with his checked in baggage and of course 5 kilos in his cabin baggage!
