Nobel Peace Prize for Rajapakse and Prabhakaran?
Lankaguardian April fool?
It is believed prior to his visit to Sri Lanka, the Nobel Prize Foundation official had talks with India s Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and the head of the Congress Party, Mrs Sonia Gandhi and both agreed to support Sri Lanka to give a quick start to Sri Lanka s economic development once a federal state is established. They also agreed that in the event this becomes a reality, Velupillai Prabhakaran will be granted an amnesty by India following a mere technical arraignment in an Indian court and pardoned in the larger interests of Sri Lanka and the South Asian region. Prabhakaran seems to have accepted this suggestion.

IF Mano Gnaeshan disappera all these false stories will stop.
Mano Ganesan, a Tamil member of Parliament who heads a civil monitoring commission on disappearances, said that the unexplained arrests only further marginalize the Tamil community and breed anger among frustrated youth.
Where are the statistics? Everybody seems to be disappearing, but no body knows the count. If Mr. Ganeshan is so concern he should have given a long list of names.

Rajapaksa appoints Acting Secretary for Sri Lankan parliament
Mon, 1 April 2008
Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa on Monday appointed Dhammika Kitulgoda as the acting Secretary General of the Sri Lanka parliament which fell vacant with the retirement of Mrs. Priyani Wijesekara with effect from March 31 amid protest by the main opposition United National Party (UNP) that it would disrupt the proceedings of the parliament continuously if the post was not filled by the Constitutional Council appointed under the 17th amendment to the SL constitution, parliamentary sources said
How can ano one believe that he will ever implement the 13th Amendment. He is a man of deception.

In the East Sinhala chief Ministers are discriminated.
44 seats per one provincial council. So, (9X 44) PCs have 396 politicians. that is in addition to 225 in the central govt.
That is in addition to municipal council politicians.
All to satisfy racist needs of tamils.

It looks as if the whole country, all 3 communities, except the President and his goons do not like Provincial Councils because it is another layer of beaurocrcy and it cannot resolve any problem but create many.
Why cannot the president go for a true federal system with one provincial govt to each linguistic community with Cantons within for sub-minorities within?
This way he can resolve the problems to the wishes of the majority of the communities with only extremists' disapproval. |
