Rajapaksa 'has a simple message -- that the LTTE are terrorists and he's going to be very, very confrontational,' said Jehan Perera of the independent National Peace Council of Sri Lanka in Colombo, the capital. 'He doesn't need the West. He doesn't need to worry about human rights.
If he does not need the west it is fine..but he should be worried about Human rights..

Don't be surprised when he produces 'fall guys' from the forces if and when it becomes a real issue for him. This guy is a cunning slime-ball.. anything is possible.

Mano Ganesan, a Tamil member of Parliament who heads a civil monitoring commission on disappearances, said that the unexplained arrests only further marginalize the Tamil community and breed anger among frustrated youth.
Where are the statistics? Everybody seems to be disappearing, but no body knows the count. If Mr. Ganeshan is so concern he should have given a long list of names.

Ur comments is somewhat of a different level..!!Ru saying there are no killings by the SL forces.
BTW working in KFC or cleaning a company is a decent way of earning a living than being corrupted and filling their pockets..

In Sri Lanka, Fear of Being 'Disappeared'
Truth will come out no matter what..! Proven yet again.! When Tamils had this problem in previous decades, there was outright denial by the govt and there was no means for independent verification. This time around with the CFA, a lot of attention is being given to disappearances and the govt is using the same old tactic. That is to be in complete denial mode.. This is not going to work for long.
One has to understand that the violations such as these have been instrumental for rebels going up from strength to strength.
