When the Westerners (Portuguese) arrived in 1505,
there were 3 Kingdoms ??? Jaffna Kingdom (Tamil) in the north,
Kandyan Kingdom (hill-country Sinhalese) in the centre, Kotte
Kingdom (low-country Sinhalese) in the south.
BERTY,
If you do not know History, you better keep quiet unless you learn it through established and verified accounts. At the arrival of Portuguese, there were 5 kinglets in Ceylon. Out of those 5 kings who ruled different parts of this siland, only one was considered as the *EMPEROR* to whom the rest have paid their tributes.
Let me quote Father Fernao de Queryroz from his The Temporal and Spiritual Conquest of Ceylon.
When we first came to that island (i.e.,Ceylon) it was divided into five kingdoms, that of Cota, Emperor, to which all the others were tributory acknowledging that king as that of Raygam and of Seytavaca (Sitavaka) states which he of Cota divided with his brothers that of Candea and that of Jafanapatao (p32)
As such, it is clear that the kingdom that existed at Jaffna at the arrival of portuguese was not an independent kingdom as some Eelamists would like to claim, but a mere vassal kinglet which paid its tributes to the emperor at Kotte.
This is the same conclusion which can be reached through the first hand acounts left by numerous other people including Dutch Predikant Phillipus Baldaeus and the English prisoner Robert Knox. If you insist, it is just a matter of time for me to reproduce the necessary excerpts here.

you can print all this crap but it has no effect . The wonderful organisation you are supporting is the worst terror outfit in the world . Nobody gives a crap for the old regurgitated crap which are all half lies .
All you have to do is to look at the war and the situation now in the east . so you can do your koti dance for all the world to see and see if anybody cares to pay any more than lip service .
It is kinds nice to see the f%^% germans giving us advice to solve racial issue lolzzzz . |

Sansare
Thanks for the link. Nice stories, just like Ramayana and Mahabharatha. But what is the historical validity?
Also
I found this:
Vijaya's arrival in Sri Lanka is said to have coincided with the passing away of the Buddha. Indeed the very first person Vijaya encounters on the island is the 'lord of gods', Vishnu, who is charged by the ailing Buddha with looking after Vijaya and his descendants.
Dr. Lankamithra Fernando says that the Sinhalese believe that they are the 'Chosen' people and were entrusted with the guardianship of Buddhism.
When I asked about this, all our Sinhala brethren in LNP passionately denied this. Also Rasak called me an idiot, saying that Vijaya's time was several hundred years after Lord Buddha attained Nirvana.
I am all confused. Please enlighten me:))

Peelam Pooch is cutting and pasting Peelam diarrhoea all over the place.
This particular 'Peelam Diarrohoa' has been 'dressed' up in a more respectable wording for the consumption of Gullible Westerners that Romanticize the Rescue of an 'Oppressed Minority'
Peelam Pooch is cutting and pasting a platter of Cow Dung topped up with Icing Sugar to make it more presentable.
Hilarious! :))))
