Army Spokesman Brigadier Udaya Nanayakkara addressing the media in Colombo this morning (31), said that the ministry would not hesitate to rehabilitate and find a means of livelihood to those LTTE cadres who surrendered themselves to the forces and chose to give up terrorism.
`It has become difficult to cope up with the demand as already 48 are undergoing vocational training 11 have completed training and are to be found foreign employment,` he said.
Minister Rambukwella mentioned that he was negotiating with foreign countries to make this programme a success.
According to the Minister there had been a confrontation between the forces and LTTE cadres between 9.30 and 11 am today about 10km from Mullativu town which caused damage to the run-away and also cleared the area off Vauvnia-Periyapandiverichan.
The forces also gained victories in Mannar.
At the same time many have left unprotected areas particularly around Delft and moved over to protected areas. Already about 230 have come over, Brigadier Nanayakkara said.

Trying to capture the Vanni hasn't succeeded after a year of fighting and killing dozens of Tiger cadres daily.
Now the MOD has come up with a 'cunning' plan of offering rehabilitation if the Tiger cadres surrendered.LOL
The MOD is trying every trick imaginable to break into the Vanni but the Vanni ain't the East. The Tigers won't budge from the Vanni how hard they try.

Sri Lanka has nothing to capture in Wanni since it is already in Sri Lanka. What it need is to destroy bad boys which infested in that area. That is the job the SL military forces are doing right now very effectively. Understand?

As it did once before by murdering about 20 children in captivity and then blaming it on villagers while there was a presence of police and military during the whole operation.

Do you think they wouldn't have done by now if they really wanted to?
If it does: this could create more problems to the center from the south and they don't want. |
