In Oz, USA, Canada and most of South American countries this argument of who came first is irrelevant as those who went there 550 years ago are the rulers.
Eventually what matters is what investment we made to own the place we live in. Calculating on the basis of time - is like Public Service. Calculating on the basis of current work and activity - is like Commercial Service. This issue is not different to the Airlanka/SriLankan Airlines crisis that is currently happening. All those who seek a commercial airline - disqualify credit on the basis of time in terms of ownership.
What Tamils want is not Sinhala Only Act but equal treatment as any other community which is granted in many civilised countries. Sinhala Onlt Act treats those who speak Sinhala as the superior race.
I do believe that as individuals Tamils in Sri Lanka feel equal to Sinhalese more than Tamils in Australia feel in relation to White Australians. It's worse with the Sinhalese in Australia.
It is now time to consolidate and uphold the Truth - so that the average person would not take unearned status on the basis of race or language except for defined functional purposes.
We already have it. We need the courage to 'show' it publicly through our conduct and everyday life.

Tamils migrated all over the world and accepted the system of the majority and live well.
This must be about (sorry I didnt read all posts), partly forced migration by British, for own economic and administration benefits.
History says, Tamils in north SL were there since early stage of SL known history. As I believe, they never succeeded in controlling the whole Island, and also never became the majority of the country.
So, the co-existence as a minority with 100% equal rights is a fair way of thinking. If we can stop the wan, people will start to see he possibility to live together. |

We all are immigrants. If one ethnic group thinks its language, culture, is greater than another, we will never have harmony. We must find a way to live in harmony, while preserving and respecting anybody else's cultural or traditional values.
Tamils and Sinhaleese share a lot of cultural and traditional values, except the language. We must find a system that does not require tamils to learn sinhala in order to perform their daily activities, and vice versa. |

Sinhalese are bad people they have taken the country from somebody 2500 years ago.
Rawana is bad cos he took someones wife away 5000 years ago.
Oh,USA.
Tamils are very good people and historic catamaran runners but they dont know exactly where they had their homeland so far.
May be they dont leave a clue for anyone else to know where they lived for security reasons, not to allow others to find their catamaran building expertice.
Anyway not all the Tamils but some experts called LTTE have improved these technics to get into anybody's bank account and lead a gala life on those money.
Still they build illegal catamarans in TN for smuggling too.

Yes Tamils are too and should not be allowed for a seperate state in Srilanka in modern day.They should live together as they were doing so far.Terrorists should be defeated for living on innocent Tamils funds.Its Tamils responsibility to eradicate their own killers.Otherwise there wont be enough Tamils left to record their modern history either.Cos their strong internal differences such as caste ,class etc
They will go on killing each other with their own money that they earn good or bad. |

| Srilanka was an name invented about 50 years ago..even the flag was stolen from dutch ships.. there are two majorities in the island south for te sinhalese and northeast for the tamils..both races have a very diffrent langauge and religion.. one majority cannot rule another majority.. can india rule pakistan even if they speak the same langauge ?..how can 99% sinhaese army rule tradional tamil areas of northeast where the tamils have thier tradional historic areas.. |

This leads to the logical conclusion that
1.
until Charles Darwin found the fossils all creatures were created and afterwards evolved one from another.
and
2. Until Newton discovered that apple was pulled down due to gravity all the apples flew upwards. |
